I am going to be putting a stock tank up for sale. It has a nick in the paint. If you are in the market let me know.

I am also going to be unloading a set (4) stock cables. Clutch, choke, throttle(2)

Noob question here...should I leave the fuel on or turn it off when I shut down the bike? The guy I got it from said something about the tank vapor locking when you don't turn the fuel off but I have no idea what he meant by that.

Turn the petcock off. Make it a habit. Nothing worse than opening the door to the garage in the morning and have a three gallon puddle of gas on the floor. What'll really cause you to pucker up is the click, click, click of the water heater ignitor

So... I think all of my clutch questions have been answered, but there is one more issue I am trying to diagnose.

At lower RPM's the bike is a bit jerky. The engine seems to be running smooth, but the bike seems kinda clunky, hard to describe... As soon as I increase the rpm's a little, or downshift, it smooths out again. I've checked chain adjustment, and the only other thing I've changed is putting on a Moose CS sprocket, but it had the same issue with the old sprocket also.

Am I just lugging the engine too much, or do I have worse things to fear?

Sounds like you are simply lugging the engine too much. It's not a John Deere

GOOD! I was hoping I wasn't looking at a new transmission or full rebuild soon (as much as I would love to send it out to CW, I just don't have the time/money right now). I'll just try to keep the rpm's up more.

Question

I don't have an XRL... but I'm told the engine in my 1987 CBX250 is the same engine as a XRL250. Can anyone confirm this?

Nice pics Spud. I was up there back in September on the KLR. And Allison Krauss to boot! She used to play a festival here in Louisville back in the 80's put on by Kentucky Fried Chicken and has only gotten better with age.
