Short notice, but I'm taking this afternoon off. If anyone is tooling around down this way let me know. Likely will be in Noble, Washington, and Monroe. I plan to run a tank out of the KLR with no particular goal.

Yea, I've got the bump, too. Doesn't cause me any problems now. I totally forget about it til I look in the mirror.

Every time someone grabs me by the shoulder it's quickly followed by a version of WTF?

I had been trying to help my friend Paul get back into motorcycling and was helping him find a good DS bike. He wanted an XL650 but due to health issues decided to postpone the adventure. Found out tonight Leukemia may soon be taking him out of the adventure called life.

And all the best to your wife Mark that you and her recover fully and quickly. As Anne Murray said, "Sure could use a little good news..."

On another note, Slammer and I had an interesting ride into WVa today. I found this road that was barely more than a car wide, twistier than anything I've ever ridden and most of it all 2nd gear and 1st in some turns, I think about 10 miles long. Made me long for a 690 Duke or SM!

Met a couple guys at Appalachian Off-road, one is somehow related to Gabby (Nephew?) and the 2nd claims to be a Buel Friend of MikeF.

When it rains, it pours. Damn.

Half the staff at AOMC are inmates I think. WVdyhrd, Jtucker, TDRRally, Geometrician are all active in the WV Dualsports thread and work there. Have visited a few times and bought gear, cool shop. They do pretty good deals/sales through their website sometimes too. Good peoples.

They recently moved, cool guys and a nice fully solar powered building. The shops run by dirt riders always seem friendlier than the others to me.

I'll try to come up with something more original for my next photo shoot.

Benly, holy shit man, I'm a little mortified that I led to your permanent disfigurement! Hopefully you're not hurting to bad and you can use it as a cool story or something. It's really to bad I didn't have a helmet camera, I watched the whole thing, and it was pretty spectacular. I'm really glad you (and the bike) were still together as much as you were, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

The leaves are beginning to change so I snapped some pictures Thursday:

Well if anyone is trailering from Columbus area let me know. I think I've got the time, but I don't see it being realistic to ride that far that early, then ride there all day, and still be alive enough to ride home.

Edit, or if someone wants to do something a little closer to home (Tar Hallow, Perry, Danville, Clearfork, even Wayne) I'm free the majority of tomorrow, although I'd like to be home around 4ish.
