Well if anyone is trailering from Columbus area let me know. I think I've got the time, but I don't see it being realistic to ride that far that early, then ride there all day, and still be alive enough to ride home.

Edit, or if someone wants to do something a little closer to home (Tar Hallow, Perry, Danville, Clearfork, even Wayne) I'm free the majority of tomorrow, although I'd like to be home around 4ish.

Went for a ride with bikeridermark, bikeneil, and Jim ( not an inmate ) in Tar Hollow today.

Good ride today at Wayne...invisible_monster showed up and we explored the trail network off by itself east of Nelsonville, it's pretty cool had it all to ourselves and it's not nearly as groomed and easy as the main corridor or the other loops - some of it gets very narrow, no way the big UTV's can get in all of those trails. I recommend it if you go on a weekend, you won't be contending with anyone over there.

Stopped over at Wally's (Wheelsports in Reynoldsburg) yesterday to get some Stihl parts.

If anyone is looking for a 990 KTM ADV, Wally has a couple used on the floor, I think he said they were 2008's and he was asking $6,990 each. Sounded like he was motivated to get them off the floor before winter.

I can live without the song, but nice job picking lines around the fallen. That section was missed by a most riders.

That's why I don't like being the lead rider, you can pick a better line when they get hung up.

btw, you sound like one of those purest on TT. They say the videos are better without music and just mc sounds.

This is TENTATIVE at this point.

I thought I could lead a tour of the Mohawk Dam valley where the Kokosing and Mohican Rivers merge - next Saturday, Octobober 20th for riders that are new (noobs) to this form of adventure riding. The ride should help with those new riders who are apprehensive of gravel surface roads and don't want to worry about getting 'lost' - and want to experience the autumn colors on their motorcycles in Central Ohio.

I expect about 100 miles of gravel, maybe 10% pavement. A rider can drop out anytime they want. Gas station(s) will be available but show up with a full tank. Weather looks good at this point (subject to change). The roads are mostly 'dirt roads' with a lightly scattered gravel surface. A little road could be 'loose gravel' surface. The latter tends to be dusty but weather may work with us. These roads are very lightly traveled with a lot of uphills and downhills. No special tires are needed but mixed use tires (on/off road) would be helpful - if you run 36 psi or so in your tires, the bike will be skittery - you may want to drop your psi.

I plan to park (start) at Mohawk Dam's picnic area. The dam 2 miles north of Nellie, Ohio on SR 175. Nellie is approx. midway between Cochocton and Mt. Vernon on SR 36. I'm thinking of a 11:00am start time - the ride should last about 4 hours.

BTW - the ride is open to all riders.

I do not expect a big turn-out / response.

I will watch for interested response - no response, no tour.

That hill was alot cobbier than it looked - Steve (1st uphill victim) was there for a while. I got off my bike to give him a push up and over the rock, as soon as I got to his bike, he got free. Then I barely made with the little momentum I had starting mid-hill - that was the 'trouble spot' that was mentioned on the route sheet - Oh, I forgot - you guys don't use route sheets. . .

Next ride - you're the 'trail boss' - it's a slightly different game when you're out front.

Now see, if I knew that was a trouble spot I would have had that in mind and probably screwed up...

I'll be the first to admit that most of what I accomplish while riding is just pure luck. I just close my eyes and twist the throttle and hope for the best....lol

Yep - engine sounds and branches smacking the bark busters are the best music. For movies with music, fleshwound films usually have pretty good soundtracks. Kind of like a harder version of Buildit's songs. Here's a classic after you get past the Sewerbowl:
