Tulane beats SMU

Sadly, I have to agree with you. I personally like Mack Brown, I think he is a true gentleman, and at one time, a great coach. But I fear that his time has passed, or, he just hasn't kept up. When he cleaned house a couple of years ago, he should have looked in the mirror and realized he was at fault and not the coaching staff he let go.

Edit: just to be clear, what I'm saying is that a year ago you were singing the praises of Texas, saying how much better off they were without Muschamp, saying Diaz was a better coordinator, and you stated that Muschamp wasn't up for the job in Gainesville. One would think that if Texas had kept Muschamp and given him Mack Brown's job, it could be Texas in the top 5 instead of Florida.

Funny how much things can change in a year.

The first out of State win since 2007. Yes, that is five years ago for you non-accountants. Also now being above .500 for the first time in "over four years."

Yes sirs, and madam Theee University of New Mexico Lobos dominated Hawaii to move to 4-3 on the season.

The New Mexico Lobos leaned on an early 14-0 cushion, a 76-yard scoring jaunt by Cole Gautsche, several backbreaking plays by the UNM defense, and a gutsy fourth-quarter scoring drive, to post a gut-wrenching 35-23 Mountain West win Saturday night over the Hawaii Warriors.

The Lobos (4-3, 1-1 Mountain) were up 21-0 in the second quarter but had to hold on to fight off the Warriors, who gained confidence as the game progressed.

"This was a gut check," said Lobo Coach Bob Davie. "That's a long day and they hung in there. This was a heck of a win for us. I couldn't be more proud of the effort of our players."

Bob Davie, has shown good coaching does matter. I am impressed and as you can tell excited. It is fun to have the Lobos moving in the right direction. Even now I hear whispers moving to out right talk of the Lobos making a third tier bowl.

The scoreboard domination was the most important aspect of the first quarter, but the way the Lobos ruled the line of scrimmage had to be disheartening for the Warriors. UNM had the ball 13:26 minutes of the first quarter. Hawaii had the ball for 1:34 and had only five yards in total offense.

And Wyoming's coach turns into a total ass after the game (on military appreciation day at that!) with his petty tirade about the AF QB having to come out after having lost his helmet in the previous play. This is a NCAA rule in case he didn't know. On the other hand the Wyo coach is the same flippin' idiot who called for a 2 point conversion after Wyo's first TD. It failed. Wyo lost by a point.

I'll be heading South for UTEP/Tulane.

But it sucks, cause I would have also liked to hit CC v AFA in hockey then AFA/UNM... if they had scheduled football earlier then one could have the tri-fecta and go up to watch DU hosting AFA.

Most of the year AFA gets my cheer-- cept for CSt and UNM.
