I took my 2011 MTS1200S from LA to Portland and back in July. Put on approx 3000 miles in roughly 9 days. The only "problem" I had was the freaking factory tires wearing out really quickly and unexpectedly. So had to make a stop at a Ducati dealer in NorCal to replace them. Other than that all good.

Haven't been here for a few days but thanks (and you too Oelvarez & Bross) for the replies. I'll look into them. Tail pack might work as well or better. Lew |

Waiting for some dude that called me about buying my KLR. Trying to sell it to raise funds for a full termignoni exhaust (and requisite tail light relo kit). What are the odds he comes? Pretty bad...ugh.

Anyone bought a descent chain adjuster? The one in the tool kit is made of cheese as I bent mine using it (and didn't move the wheel one millimeter).

I've ridden mine multiple times in heavy rain and parked it outside uncovered in rain on tours and never had an issue. The chain adjuster on the other hand is shit.

I've ridden for hours in the rain, on multiple trips, without electronic issue. |

Which 1200 "adventure" bike today does not have electronics/switchgear? Especially the 2013 models. Even the new 1190 KTM Adventure will now have traction control and selectable riding modes (although we will only see the 2014 model in the US). Possible Answer: Moto Guzzi Stelvio? And I hear you want one more electronic gizmo: cruise control. ![]()

Chain Adjuster Tool
So far all the Ducati specific aftermarket tools have fairly short handles. There is a Triumph long handled one which I'm told will fit the Ducati hub but, it's in the UK and I don't know if they'll ship to the States.
EBay Triumph Tool You can see this bloke needs a fair amount of leverage to move the adjuster which is why a long handle looks essential to me ![]()
