I think to get the desired effect I would have to double clutch downshift, which as far as I can gather, is not possible with a sequential box because there is no 'neutral' between gears, like in a car. rev-match only helps when releasing the clutch. I am talking about getting the stupid thing into first gear with the clutch all the way in.

It often gets sort of 'stuck' like the tops of the teeth in the gears line up perfectly so it wont drop. My manual cars do this once in a while too, but there for some reason it is less annoying. I think because I am not worried about becoming a permanent "Joe Pancake" or hood ornament when I am in the cage. C'est la vie. Overall though, bike is still great!

I hate the decals on my Z1000... Sorry, that's all I could think of.

This thing is awesome.

It could use some heated grips too I guess.

Spaghetti wiring on my Ducati Monster. no gauges work anymore, and it seems to think there's no oil when its raining... And to boot, a quick rainstorm means the "black key" may not start the bike anymore, because the theft system is triggered.

Harley XR1200....LOVE the styling, loved the bike...UNTIL I went and rode one..

FAT grips, FAT levers WAAAAY to close to the grips. Mirrors about 1/8 of an inch from the top of my knuckle. It steered like riding on 2 flat tires, needs rear shocks about 4 inches longer so it'll turn propperly(sarcasm there, not really that much longer)....Feels narrow, seat, tank, bars...feel good, THEN put your feet on the pegs that are WAAAY wide to clear the width of the drive.

ANyway....I didn't buy one.

its the only harley i can fit as all the other hd,s i tryed at a bike show were odd size. with my ass as close to the tank and my feet on the foot board i could not get near the gear shifter or the rear brake so i will stay clear. i am 5.8 tall with a 32 or 33 in side leg. so a normal size.

Turn signal system on older BMWs........ Really ,3 levers/buttons to do what a Japanese bike does with one system? And under your right hand which is already pretty busy in a turn anyway! DUMB.

I do like the emergency flasher feature available with the BMW "3 button" setup, the japanese "left/right/push to cancel" is ok, but jams up over time - doesn't always want to cancel, and you can't tell by looking at the switch if it's on or not. The /5 bmw switch was rotary, left=left/center=off/right=right. Very obvious what was what. Add a "pull for e-flasher" feature, and you've got everything!

This is most annoying when in traffic and the red light suddenly turns green and I am almost to a stop.

The previously mentioned oil change procedure.

The lack of a helmet lock. I know a lot of bikes dont come with them, and I do appreciate the stock (on my 09) center stand, ABS (get some use out of that in DC!) and heated grips, but a helmet lock would just take the cake.

Heck, I dont even mind that when I shift it sounds liek a screen door slamming shut, I just want it to shift into first gear consistently!

Love the bike though...
Most bikes require a little movement to shift through all the gears. try to get into first before coming to a complete stop. If you happen to stop in second gear, slowly let out the clutch (might need to roll forwards a bit, too) while applying normal pressure to the gear lever, and I bet it pops right in.

This. 1000 times this.

Yeah, so they mount a Brembo. Awesome. And then they put it upside down. I have to bleed mine about once a month, whether I ride it or not. I was really excited about replacing my Tuono with a the V4R version until I saw a picture of it and noticed the rear caliper was still upside down. Dealbreaker.

09 F650 Twin, Speedo is set intentionally low. Travelling at consistent speed, & resetting the average speed on the computer shows an 8% difference . The computer is pretty dang close.

(side note: the "" icon's eyes looks like the headlamps for a R1150gs)
