DeLorme PN40 and Linux?
I did an extensive search for this today, and came up with practically nothing. I have a little HP netbook that is the ideal companion on the bike for me. It's light, has really good battery life, and takes care of most of the functions I need on the road. Unfortunately, the hard drive crapped, along with the copy of Windows XP that I'd been nursing along for years. I don't want to invest another $65 - $100 bucks in an obsolete operating system, and my system disks were abducted by aliens long ago.
I tried an Android tablet, but I'm old school enough that I like a keyboard, and there is no support for the DeLorme with the Android OS. Yesterday, I ordered a copy of Linux Mint on a stick. Linux has more than kept pace with the rest of the OS world, and Mint is reported to be one of the better builds. It cost me fourteen bucks, and all the software I commonly use has Linux support except for DeLorme Topo North America. Has anyone has success running Topo North America under Wine or any of the other Linux Windows emulators? I've been taking a bash at making GPSBabel upload to the Delorme from Windows, and discovered a program called Viking, which claims to support the DeLorme USB protocol, but things aren't looking too fruitful at this point, although it seems to be a highly-capable package otherwise. Thanks in advance.

Already checked. There is no new information, only a thread from three years ago.
