10,000 miles on mine and it is rock solid as well, only 2 issues I have is 1 the rear brake travel is long, but it works when I need it to thats what counts, and the licenses plate light bulb does not last very long..

There wasn't much rain. But it was foggy quite frequently. The bike did get wet a few times though not like it was in a downpour.

Problems in the RAIN...
Glad to hear many of you MTS12 riders have ridden in the rain with no switchgear problems. I myself didn't have any problems in the "second half" (i.e. 3,000 miles) of my trip (rode through lots of rain, but not quite as persistent as the initial soaker). Maybe it was an anomaly; sure hope so because I'd like to keep the Multi as my LD traveller.
Thanks for the responses. --Doc PS. And yes, I still want cruise control. It can be done w/o adding any more swithches; there's a guy working on it.

Grab the rear mud guard/license plate assembly and see if it's loose (flops up and down). If so, either put some spacers between the rear subframe and that assembly, or take it to your local dealer and have them do it as there is a Service Bulletin on it. That should fix your light bulb issue.
