Good ride everyone, thanks for that. Dust wasn't too bad and the corner system worked perfectly. Thanks Barry for sweeping. The other boys are still out there, probably on Western Branch about now.

Good cruisy ride. Its always good to show off some good tracks. Glad you enjoyed them. Keep an eye out, there's always plenty of rides if you want to join in.

Looks like we crossed paths yesterday.

I was checking out a few dead ends (and one good "new to me" connecting track) out around Johnstown/Kabunga/Jimmy's Scrub and went past Elgin Vale at one stage.

Always good to get out and meet up with some new and some not so new people.

Here's some pics from the day out.



After we left you lot at Neurum Crk, Cruz, Jimmy and I headed for Kilcoy for fuel and lunch. We lost Cruz at that point as his old war injury was giving him grief... Hope its feeling better today mate.

Jimmy and I headed North via Monsildale Rd and Kilcoy Murgon Rd.






We took the forestry across to Elgin Vale where we stopped at the saw mill for a quick look. (Woop, we were there about 3 ish)



From there it was a quick dash down the Western Branch Road to the sign and then the long black ribbon back to home, family and cold beer.

Thanks for the company Jimmy. I'm glad you liked the tracks.



Getting used to the Tiger now. Enjoying every minute of the ride.
Must do something about the pipe though. Its a bit quiet.

Too much wildlife didn't hear me coming until the last minute and then tried to take me out. Between goannas, cows, kangaroos, snakes, deer, wallabys and magpies there was a few near misses but I did get the snake before it got me.
Careful out there people there is a lot of wildlife out and about.

Bit of a delayed post-ride comment. Big thank you to MickD for his lead on the ride, thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be back for more. I know I speak for my brother as well when I say that ride was everything that we had hoped it would be!!

I remember that place. Its not a woolshed, but an old steam powered saw mill (Elgin Vale??). I spent a couple of hours down the back of there learning to fix a flat tyre just a few weeks back. Baptism of fire!!

I ran into 4 lads today at kilcoy bakery, about 2pm. Was it any of you lads? I was on the grey DR with the guys in the black ute.

I reckon you should make the next ride on a Sunday (out of pure self interest-I have Sundays off).

I am planning to do a ride in 2 weeks (3rd or 4th November) up around Jimna. I want to scope out some new trails and see if its possible to get from glasshouse mountains (around peachester state forest) to jimna without major roads. Being a noob myself, i will stick to easy trails. Probably fuel up at kilcoy, and head up traves road (mt kilcoy) then turn right up the top somewhere.

You can go up Bellthorpe Range Road (off Kilcoy Beerwah Road), through Bellthorpe, or up Mount Kilcoy Road (follows Kilcoy Creek).
