thanx o)
the thing is that the mz provides pure and limitless fun... just for the record: these are 16'' tyres: mitas c-01 3.50-16 (very soft, good for the front) and motoz nhs terrapactor or tractionator or something for the rear end...80/100-16. the latter last very well at the rear, quite good in snow, but initially very soapy on the road, until they're 50% down... g max ~:) altf4 screwed with this post 10-16-2012 at 03:02 PM |

What variety of fairing-lower-thingy is that? Homebuilt? Does it keep your lower body any warmer/drier for winter/rain riding, or is it primarily a mud guard?

that's a bog standard mz ts250/1 leg-shield, slightly bent o) and yes, and yes o) wouldn't want to miss it on devon's wet and muddy roads. for keeping your body snug and warm, there used to be available a special throw-over canvas covering your legs and your lower body. east-german winters were and are cold. o) btw: this is the aerodynamically superior version: ![]() ^^ not quite as good whenthe frost arrives: ![]() g max ~:) altf4 screwed with this post 10-16-2012 at 05:37 PM |

Those canvas coverings are still for sale ( can't find the link on my laptop, must be on my computer upstairs ) but I have asked a friend for a canvas roof off of a Suzuki Samurai to make one myself

I have been seriously considering trying to fit one of those CJ lap aprons to the 400 for the coming winter. I think it's going to be a really rough one this year.
I might just try to build me one o' them thar leg shields, too. :3 |

One of the service writers at Bob's BMW has these fitted to his commuter. Might be cheaper than fabbing your own. |
