New Sub Forum for the "Bikes" Section?

Proposed in one of the cruiser clone threads, how about a new sub forum for Cruisers?

Cruisers
Harleys, Clones, and other Wannabees


It would sure clean up the SNR in Road Warriors.

We discussed this idea a while back among site mods/admins and decided against it for now. Not enough traffic in RW to warrant a cruiser only subforum.

I'll bet y'all could prune more Harley/Cruiser/Chopper threads out of Road Warriors than there are Hack or Scooter threads (about 4,000 each).

But, I understand your decision. Road Warriors is only 10,000 treads, much less than Thumpers or G Spot.

I hope you will keep it under consideration.

Do you feel like the volume of cruiser threads gets lost in all the other RW threads? That's what it boils down to for the mod staff. If we were losing quality or the threads were falling off the front page too fast, then we might do it. A quick perusal of the first page in RW shows 3 threads that could kinda be considered cruiser threads. We worked pretty hard to eliminate all the ridiculous, baseless Harley bashing, and succeeded. As it stands we feel like RW does a good enough job of serving our limited cruiser interests.

I never post anything about riding my Harley due to there is always some condescending comment that will surely follow.

It's seen more dirt roads, extreme winter riding, and adventures, (including being a working police bike in New Orleans during Katrina,) than my KLR has.

But mention Harleys and unless you have a Sportster with 17" shocks, you are labled as a pirate.

I don't think you can fix this problem.

Great idea .. We could then subdivide the rest of Road Warriors into sport bikes and touring bikes, and subdivide those by brand... by the time we're done, Road Warriors could be composed of 8 or 9 subforums.

We're not saying no just to say no. We discussed this on an admin level quite a while back and saw no need for it. The front page in Road Warriors does not have a high turn over rate. I'm RW mod and I'm in there daily, if there was a need we would have addressed it. There simply isn't that much traffic in RW.
