A HUGE thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers on this update project. Another HUGE thank you to all of the offers of a safe spot to crash. I WILL be using this in the future.
Just a quick clarification question. If I click on the Google map link that shows all of the spots available, have those actually been updated and verified? To use one of those spots do I PM the member and verify that it is ok, or how do I use them? If this info is already posted somewhere then please just link me to that. This is crazy awesome in a world with so much animosity and prejudices to see people work to gether for a common good is really cool.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=776925 There is a date on each Tent Space listing, and that is the date that the Tent Space was updated or verified. When you click on the inmate's Tent Space listing, you will get the Inmate's Tent Space posting. If you click on the inmate's name, you will be able to send a PM to that person; some people have an email option as well. You might want to use both the PM and email to contact the person. Either way, PM and/or email, you want to contact the person at least a few days (if possible) before you think you'll need the Tent Space -- to check if it is available and if the inmate will be around. I hope this explanation makes sense to you! If not, PM me, or you could contact Jamie Z for perhaps a better explanation! |

![]() The Tent Space maps are now virtually 100% up to date. For those curious, we define up-to-date as less than a year old. It's been a big job. When we started back in May, there were upwards of 1200 Tent Space offers. As I mentioned previously, a vast majority of those offers were old. Up to six years old in many cases. In the course of the Double Check project, over 700 people responded to us to confirm their existing Tent Space offer. We've removed right around 500 (five hundred) Tent Space offers where we were unable to contact the inmate who made the offer in order to confirm the information. (Sadly, a good many of those are from people who are apparently still active ADVrider members, but never responded to our repeated private messages and emails.) On the other hand, most of those 500 were from people who hadn't visited ADVrider in many months or years and those Tent Space offers were clearly outdated. Another 100 or so members have made new offers in the past few months, giving us just over 800 active Tent Space offers from around the world. It's really pretty amazing. Big thanks to the many hundreds of people who responded to our messages, updated their posts, and in many cases told us how fun it has been to host other inmates. Also thanks to the Double Check volunteers who have been working to get the maps up to date. Thanks to the Tent Space founding fathers, Geode, Johnny Drunkard, The Dude Himself who started this whole thing. Thanks to stevejonesmo, who was the catalyst by creating the Tent Space maps in his spare time and putting all the data together. And thanks to Canadian Drif10 who has the oldest Tent Space offer, posted on July 4, 2006 and updated as recently as six weeks ago. If you've got space to put up a traveling rider for the night, now is a good time to put your name on the Tent Space List. Jamie

I never got an email or PM and I see my listing is gone. There are three others in the area. Was that too many?

I saw you made a new post in the Tent Space Sign-up thread. That would have been my suggestion. I'm not immediately sure what happened to your other post. Your location will be on the map soon! Thanks. Jamie

In any case, thanks for signing up (again). You're location will be put on the map. There's never "too many" in an area. ![]() Jamie

Thanks for all your hard work. I have yet to use any of the tent spaces offered, but always think of it when we are on a trip to have as a backup plan.
