Place in NC
Really enjoying the report. Gonna make it further south? You're welcome at a very humble farmhouse in NC. Stay safe.

If you notice the stars that are on both sides of the residence. They are not mere decoration. They are for support of the structure and/or to hold the facade to the front depending on the type and placement. Interesting shot. Glad you got it. You better hurry up and head south. It is already in the 40's in the am around the Atlanta area. I am thinking Key West would be a good place to be about now, sitting on Duvall St and just enjoying the sunset! |

Ducati/Garmin (Though it probably wouldn't mount well on clip-ons)

You're in my hood! I'll keep my eyes peeled (er, ears open rather) for a Panigale sighting.

I've been living in DC for just over a year now and I think I kind of like it. If you want any suggestions on where to stay or things to do, just hit me up over pm, I check here regularly. I'd offer you a place to sleep, but I think the wife would frown on letting some stranger over the internet sleep on the couch. Sorry.

Like NY, I'd been to DC before and had seen all the 'sites', so don't expect much in the way of me being a tour guide. I contemplated driving down the path to the Lincoln monument, but security is just a little tight around these parts.
![]() While pulling up to get a pic of my bike with a sliver of the White House behind, a mtn bike cop came down on me as if I was preparing to steal the last of the precincts donuts. Not sure why they were guarding the curb, but ok. ![]() Did finally manage to find a spot where I could get a pic of the 1199 in front of the White House (it's way there in the background): ![]() Far easier to get a shot of myself: ![]() Would have loved to get a shot of the bike in front of this guy, but didn't want to wake him up: ![]() Driving around DC was awesome--by far the easiest, most traffic-free metro experience I've had the entire trip. Course it was late-afternoon on a Sunday, but none-the-less I enjoyed blasting up and down the streets shaking windows and setting off alarms. |

I had intended to stay in/around the MD/DC area for about a week. But the urge to get back out on the road and move struck me, so off I went.
And it didn't take long for the scenery to get beautiful quickly. ![]() ![]() Oh yes--hit the 10,000 mile mark!!!! ![]() And for the first time in my life I actually experienced what fall colors were all about: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I could have spent hours on Blue Ridge Parkway. Serious fun. Light traffic, no police and the road offers enough technical sections to keep you busy and several miles of long fast sweepers. Hard to concentrate on riding while constantly thinking about where I could stop for some great pictures.
