I saw 2 really clean FJ40s riding around near Estes Park yesterday. Until moving here I didn't even know they existed without rust! Someday I'd love to have a nice FJ40 or 45 pick up, they just have a huge coolness factor.

Where abouts was this? I Need to get back into an fj55...
I have an fj40 and an fzj80, use to have 2 fj55 as well.

It was somewhere on 160 in Colorado between Durango and Mesa Verde, judging from where the pics fall on my phone. Looking at a map, I think that it must have been between Hesperus and Mancos. I can shoot you a seven-digit phone number from the for-sale sign, but it was more than two months ago. Let me know in a PM if you want the number.

Oh yea couple of Fj40 with small blocks, last creation was a FJ 62 with a Vortec, nice ride mpgs sucked ass so I have a taco and bikes for now...would love a FJ45.

That's funny, I saw the same rig when I was there in July. I think it was pretty close to Durango.

My new favorite cousin GaVe this to me.
87 FJ60 manual trans 230k very straight new interior.
Starts right up but over heats and no smoke out of the exhaust.
Also no coolant in oil. Brakes, rubber, radiator all shot. Hasnt been on road in 5 years.

A trusted mechanic is saying it needs pretty much everything and quotes $4.5k - 5k to get her back on the road.

So? Is it worth it? I have always wanted one and I think I'd drive it another 20 years.

I was going to buy a Landrover to tinker with but this may be a better cheaper option.

My oldest son has an 80's something Land Cruiser that has a cummins 4 cylinder turbo diesel installed.. It is a torque monster... and a head turner when he is tooling around Washington DC. People just don't expect to hear a cummins diesel when a Toyota Land Cruiser passes them.
