Not too cold for me, but I don't want Chuck to look even more pussy-ish, so I won't camp. I will ride out and make noises of encouragement for those that can actually wrench stuff. I'll keep the fire up too!!!!!!

Charlie already claimed Petey as his belly-warmer. Poor pup.....

Bagged me an 8 point tonight....

Yellaphant being my weapon of choice again.

No real damage to me. ATGATT. Jacket has a tear in the sleeve, pants torn, left boot scraped down.

Yellaphant is gonna need a refurb though. Headlamp assy and trim ring, windshield, handguard, left saddlebag, right saddlebag mnt, left cyl rocker cover, lt fr turn signal. Maybe some more as I dig deeper.

Broke the deers back. He thrashed around for a bit then gave it up.

Tomorrow starts the fun task of dealing with the insurance co. I'm sure they're gonna wanna total the bike due to age and miles. Aint' happenin'. I'll take what they gimme and fix it up and keep riding.

Pics to follow in the morning.

If I had a way to get the bugger home he'd be heading for the freezer.

I'm pricing parts now so the adjuster don't try and screw me.

And yeah, I got my licks in on the forest rat afore he croaked.

Bluhduh deer

Sorry to hear about Yellaphant, but glad your not busted-up.
Speaking of rats.....I rode the bike to early vote today.
I was kinda surprised with all the folks going out of their way to be friendly today. A lot of interest in my bike, and riding in general.

It sure was windy though, going South at 60mph felt like 85.

I still plan on making it Doc, just in a cage.

Sore this morning. I don't bounce too well any more. Gotta get on the horn to the insurance agent and get that circus rolling.

Sorry to hear about your involvement with a deer. Hope your nor feeling to awful sore today. I will send you a pm with a # so you may visit with Billy Wing. I would expect he has been shopping for parts to get his BMW Adv back up and running. So you may be able to swap sitings of parts needed. Hope your feeling better soon. Sorry I won't get to visit with ya all this weekend as I am headed north to Illini country.

Hang tough O'Jay.

How far from the house were you? Kind of a big bike to throw in a pickup.

Glad you bounced instead of crunched.

almost only counts in horseshoes and handgranades...set a goal and see if you can reach beyond, 'almost'..you will be glad you did!

V-man
That ain't no lie. I have always said the Sportster is the best sounding Harley made.

There are DS Sportsters out there. They have 14" or longer shocks and forks with DS-worthy amounts of travel...

I noticed that too. That bike has to have been built strictly for the looks. Riding it on the street for short trips would be a hoot though.
