Some may remember my writeup about the "Trofeo Kit" (Steel Touratech rear subframe, KTM Fairing, custom made seat, Titanium race exhaust).
I got some new eye Candy. Modified Touratech Aluminium Subframe based on the Oryx Aluminium subframe with 17 liters TT rear Tank (+12 Liters underseat) plus seat from the Oryx. Seems like a custom job (not sure if done by TT or someone else), the seat obviously will not bolt right on this setup- In case the price is right, I will buy it and get you some more details, once it arrives. Pics: ![]() All put together loosely:

Wich forks should I get
Hi everyone!
I have the possibility to get my hands on a set of Yamaha YZ400F forks + triple clamp from 1999, but are unsure if they would suffice for the Dakar conversion... The -99 YZ400 dry weight is stated to be 104kg and the -06 Dakar weighs 177kg dry. Its clear to me I´ll have to change springs and oil, but were the forks that good in -99 or should I wait for something newer? My other option is a fork + triple clamp from a KTM 625 sxc -05, but then I have to turn down the stem a bit to fit the BMW bearings... Please help me choose

Well, that setup seems to be an abandoned project, actually.
It actually is (read: was) an Oryx rear frame, Oryx seat and the middle tank used in both, the Oryx and Rally conversions. What doesnt fit in the whole image is the Rally rear tank. It's rather hard to communicate with the seller, though, as my italian is not that good :p And I am not that sure if I even need it, I mean, why would I need a 3rd rear frame (already have a steel and alloy one), a 3rd middle tank and a 3rd seat, only thing I dont yet have is the Rallye rear tank ![]() (Anyone interested in the Trofeo Kit minus the exhaust? Yep, I am serious about that )

Hey, I got some Parts from the Touratech Rallye Kit today, including 2 lock adapters.
They are machined from a single piece of aluminium and usually meant to be installed on the WP fork upgrade from Touratech, but it shouldnt be too hard to adapt them to the YZ forks. One is already spoken for, but the 2nd one is still up for grabs. Should you be interested in either the lock adapter or a specific part from the Rally Kit, PM me. ![]() ![]()

Dakar/yz fork conversion axle
Hi guys, I just pulled the bearings out of the dakar front wheel and just wondering, has anyone just swapped out the bearing to fit the yz axle and made up spacers to center the wheel and take the bearing seal?

Last time I looked around there were no bearings with the right ID and OD to mate the BMW hub and YZ axle together
