Cool old SL. I had a CL100, 71 I think, and thought the SL's were such hot-rods and so racy looking!

I don't own one anymore, but I have owned several '70s 2 stroke enduros, including a '79 DT250F that I bought new. I wish I had one now, not for use off road, but to fix up and ride on the street. I think there should be more 2 strokes on the street. But the problem is there are no parts to keep them going. I had a '79 Yamaha YZ250 with a blown motor that I kept for over 10 years, looking for parts to fix it. found a few parts, but not everything I needed. I was thinking if I could get it going again, I could get into vintage MX. Too old and beat up for that now. They show up on Craigslist once in a while, if anyone knows where to get parts, I'll buy one of them

This is what I started out with and it was the top pick back in '86. I'm curious to see how many of you actually recognise this beauty from good old DDR :)

1974 DT250 Found it sitting in a friends barn. Brought it home and put some fresh gas in it and my son has been riding it the last couple of years. Some day it might be good for a restore project. Just having fun riding it right now.

Yes! I am glad to see someone has a liking for Hodakas! Is that a combat wombat? I would kill for one of those bikes... My MT125 is under powered. Keep the "work in progress' updated please!

My very first bike was exactly like this (this one isn't mine) - '79 (I think but could be wrong) Yamaha DT250. They seem to be selling now for more than we paid for it at the time. I loved that bike and wish I still had it....
