Jeez, and I thought it would be as simple as lubing a cable or two; makes me second guess moving away from the DR.

To access the controls for making these changes, you must first make a jumper wire to ground (did mine to the negative battery terminal) from the "extra" black wire in the connector for the lean angle sensor underneath the seat. There are three wires on one side of the connector that are used by the LAS and another black one on the opposite side that connects to nothing. This is probably used by the dealer to connect to Yamaha's diagnostic software.
OSU:(Here is the lean angle sensor under the seat.) OSU:(There is the one lone black wire on this side of the connector.) OSU:(Here is the other side, you need to jump the black wire to the ground wire on this side.) Hold down the "reset" and "select 1" buttons on the insturment cluster at the same time and Turn on the key (but don't press the starter button) while continuing to hold these two buttons. After 8 seconds the display will read "diag" press select 1 (i think) until you get to the screen that show throttle % the TPS is a black plasic round thing on the right side of the engine behind the frame rail use a dowel or something similar to try to tap it a bit, it took me a bit of back and forth to get the % right and have no throttle bind |

The tps was the last thing I messed with after tying everything else. It wasnt until I pulled the cables off of the throttle body and moved the plate by hand and felt the binding issue that;s when I figured it out.

So where should I start in the process? I feel like a newbie, modded my DR to the moon, haven't even changed the oil in the WR

What I did, first take apart the throttle and remove the cables then put it back together and see if the grip moves freely, 2. follow the cables and look for any kinks, sharp bends etc., 3. rotate the throttle plate by hand if you can get your hand in there if not improvise, turn the plate by hand to where it hangs up stop and check the cables to see if one is tight, if they are both slacked then it's nothing between the grip and the TB. 4. check the return spring, make sure it didn't break or jump off, dont take off the plate because getting the spring back on is a real treat (ask me how I know) if none of that is the issue then the TPS is the only other thing other than something being broken inside the TB.

Winter Mods
Been spending quality time getting my WR ready for some winter riding here in the PNW. Had some great days last year buzzing around the coast range on days that weren't TOO cold. This year I may even try some local night rides, so lights were in order as well as a few other little mods I thought I'd share.
HDB top plate came in handy again ![]() Velcro'd controller ![]() Who needs reflectors ![]() Low power ![]() High - Notice the heat shield on the heat shield. ![]() My Giant Loop kept rubbing through the paint on the stock sheild. Not ideal, but it's a start. ![]() Made the spacers from the leftover doughnut when using a 3/4" hole saw. ![]() Damn these things are ugly, but they sure help in the heavy rain. Just picked them up last week, and they flopped all over the place. ![]() Had some license plate bolts and some strechy fabric I had laying around in order to make a little support. I can easily take them off on dry days, cause, again, they're fraking ugly. ![]() Hot grips complete the projects. Bring on the winter.

Ah, sorry. I didn't check this morning when I replied, I just looked back to June when that price was last posted. I sure hope the haven't gone up 10%.
