Yup, he does an excellent job. I went with vinyl as I use mine for touring etc and I really didn't want to be dealing with soggy suede on long trips. I put in back to back 1000+ km days on this no problem.

This is in my toolkit, and clamps tighter than sh**. Better than the bendy stock tools, but the motion pro tire tools are great as they are two in one. I have this wrench and two skinny little regular Motion pro levers.
Knipex. You can get them online, or your friendly Snap On truck.

They are used heavily in aviation maintenance. They use them for large air, hydraulic and fuel couplings. They are a cam design, so they hold very tight, and I have never even felt then come close to losing grip or rounding corners. Do not think of these as or similar in any way to channel locks, other than range of adjustability. They came highly recommended by the engineers where I work. I bet there isn't a day that goes by that they don't use them.
