Does the xr suspension fit on the other sportsters without any modification? Also, am I stuck with getting new rims if I want to put any kind of knobbies on the sportster? Thanks.

Everyone's "secret" bikes are nice. You know secret, strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.....ha ha. I'm eyeballing a nightster here now. Love that bike.

The rear shocks on the XR1200 are 14 inchers, much longer than other sportster models. The front is also unique.
The wheels on the front are 18", using 120/70 ZR 18 tires and the rear are 17", using 180/55 ZR17's.

The rear shocks will bolt up. The tail end will raise up a bit but you might be able to lower your forks in the trees. I got the upgraded X suspension when I bought my bike. I gave the stock XR1200 rear shocks to a friend of mine who had an XL that he was turning into a dirtster. The front fork tubes are 43 (?) mm and might not fit in your triple trees. You could find a whole stock front end setup (fork tubes and triple trees) and swap the whole front end out. Free Spirits makes a set of triple trees that will take the XR fork tubes. The best "stock" setup is from the 2011 and up XR1200X. The front forks are the "Big Piston" type and are full adjustable and the rear has spring preload and damping adjustability. You will also need a dual disk front tire, new master cylinder, and both brake calipers for the dual front brakes. The front brakes are very good on the XR1200 and the XR1200X.

Not sure if Jet-Hot did the coating but they are ceramic coated.

I gotta set of take-off shocks off my 09 XR with maybe 3,500 miles. No issues. In the barn. Somewhere. pm me if interested.

I certainly do not like the "mags" on mine - original Harley items. Dull as ditchwater, and I am planning repainting when I get my bike from New Zealand.

I have more pics but not with the new wheel. The bags are a set of medium Tourmaster Cruiser III's. They have been pretty durable and have survived 3 seasons pulling double duty on the Sporty and my KLX300r. The zippers are the week link. Also they are relatively flexible so a set of bag supports is needed. For the price I payed I can't complain but they are being replaced soon by a set of hard bags that I am building.
