Well it is a ridged and that back tire pretty much is my rear suspension so yea i kinda was planning on running lower rear tire pressure. Yea i know I know it will accelerate tire wear but as little as this will probably get rode i doubt that will be a problem.
Edit: well my BSA guru says leave them out. So that is that. And makes it a lot easier to boot. YZman screwed with this post 10-26-2012 at 01:38 PM |

This one is in Michigan just down the road from me. Its the Richard I Potter estate auction. Looks very cool. Even if I cant afford anything (I do have my eye on something) It would be cool to check out. |

Love auctions. I pretty much quit going to them though , brought home too much stuff that I was sure I needed only to wonder what I was thinking later.
Richard seemed to be quite the Pack Rat , that will be an educational day out.

OK, break it up, that's enough, break it up. Nobody's got time or money to go to motorcycle auctions, there's a BSA bobber to be finished here.

Auctions have taken a turn for the worse around the Northeast. The prices are completely crazy and close to insane. Its like the places are now full of people thinking the bikes are investments!

Nice to hear you're back at it! The fender idea you have seems a tad extreme. Got to thinking and may have a simple solution to move the fender to allow for chain stretch until a link needs be removed. Normally one bolt attaches the front bottom part of the fender directly to a frame crossmember. Simply make a few bushing/spacers different lengths, say 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch to barely fit over the bolt shaft and using a longer bolt just move the fender back with the spacer between the fender and the frame. Should be perfect especially since your fender doesn't support any weight and the two fender arm supports would loosen to easily allow the fender to move almost perfectly horizontally backwards to account for the spacer employed. They have to do this with your bracket system as well. I know you spent allot of time on those fender brackets and the welding involved. Sorry I didn't get on here sooner before you did all that.

And yes that is another motorcycle sitting under the bench. A YZ80 that showed up for $75 the other day. Most of it is going up for parts but the front end is cherry and will be re-tasked in the future on another project

Needed some reading and thought if i pulled up an older rebuild thread I could see the whole project from beginning to end. Oops.
You still planning on finishing the BSA? Sure looked like you were on the home stretch.

I know I know... believe me I know. I really need to get busy and work on this again. I have just really been lacking on the motivation as of late. Its winter time. Its dark when I go to work its dark when I come home. Cook dinner, sit on the couch to watch a little tv....WTF...its time for bed already...how the hell did that happen.
As far as I know this is what needs to happen.
- I need to get some motion pro rim protectors for spooning on the tires so I dont screw up the polished aluminum wheels Also saw some non maring tire irons the other day I might pick up. - Im pretty sure Ill need new forks springs as mine are really pitted and probably sacked pretty bad. Ill also need to cut them down a little as I lowered my forks and currently have a lot of preload on the springs. order up this stuff and clear my polished aluminum bits with this stuff a friend turned me onto. http://www.por15.com/GLISTEN-PC/productinfo/GPCGG/ piece of cake huh?
