MX tracks can be dangerous
I almost took a guy's head off yesterday, he was on his stomach under his bike with one of his legs wrapped around the bars on a blind landing of a jump. His body was perpendicular to the track and the trajectory of my bike was right at his neck, my front tire landed between five to ten feet from his body and I luckily managed to get my bike turned and missed him. I pulled his bike off of him and man was he happy to be alive!

If the track is configured that way, the operators (is this a commercial track that charges admission?) need a flagger at that jump. Just having people sign a release won't cut it. If it's just a place where people informally ride.....

MX tracks can be dangerous. And I have the scars to prove it.

Signing a release ??? Not worth the paper it is written on... You can NOT sign away other peoples rights !!!! Just try to sign away your wifes rights in Divorce court and see how well that goes :) Even if the rider himself does not sue, or is not alive to, his wife, children, parents, can still sue.
It is a refreshing change to hear about a crash avoided rather than the usual pain we see here ![]() Mike |

I used to flag corners for the free admission and the fun of watching the race up close and personal.

It's a practice track that is managed by the city. I'm just glad I didn't have more speed. I was mid throttle (rpm) 3rd gear, you need to be in fourth to clear the flat. sends a chill up my spin to think how lucky we both were.

I've heard it said many a time, "Motorcycles are dangerous!"
Glad you both came out of it relatively unscathed.
