Nice one Gustavo, I really like that fairing setup!! Is that home made, looks like modified 990 parts?

You are going through bikes pretty quick these days, you still got the big Katoom?

Got the opportunity and sadly traded in my 950 for this 690... and i'm already missing it

Kept the 990, thought about turning it into an S, got the parts but just can't get used to this 990 EFI sh#t... maybe i'll trade it for another 950...

Funny you mention i'm going quickly through bikes, this morning i saw my old farkled up DR650 racing a local baja event... it didn't bring a tear to my eyes. LOL

About the fairing, the side panels are based on the big Adv ones, the nav column and lighting is a Rally Raid product, and the front fairing is from Touratech.

It's an interesting ride, sure is alot lighter than the big twin, and that front wheel just keeps going up.

Nice - I just ordered mine yesterday. Carbon/gripster/orange thread combo. Hope it's the same seat height as stock and the narrow section is far enough back to get my legs down.

Just connected TuneEcu to my 690R and noticed that it has loaded the 2009 stock map., however the bike has akrapovic exhaust, foam aifilter and powerparts airbox cover, does not stall, sputter, backfires, or anything.

Shouldn't it act all fussy with these mods and stock map?

It shakes a bit, nothing excessive, but its a single cylinder...

I'm almost inclined not to touch it rather than loading the akro map. If it gets better, it gets dangerous...

$10 says its lean, especially higher in the revs.

Can I fit a 690 enduro 12 light and surrounding plastic to my 690 R 2010?

Thanks

Nic

OK need some help again. Backstory, I had the fuel pump replaced in March, then it started smoking so I replaced the piston and rings. I rode it about 60 miles and shut it off and it wouldn't restart, then it bound up. I pulled the valve cover and the wheel pin worked its way out of the intake valve rocker and was interfering with the exhause rocker.

I got it back together today and it started quick enough but is running like crap and sometimes won't start at all. When it does start it runs rough backfires a little, won't idle for long and if I give it throttle it bogs like a carbureted bike when it is still cold.

The only thing I know to check is the cam timing for the 3rd time. The engine light is not on.

I'd try to get some wideband O2 readings so you actually know what the bike is doing under load at various RPMs.

Running rich can create just as much damage as running lean.

FMF pipe loose ?

I recently replaced the stock can on my 690 with the FMF Q4, and after examining the bike post ride, noticed the FMF was loose, even though the bolts are as tight as they can go. The FMF mounts via only one side of the exhaust mounting bracket. While the rubber grommets in the mounting bracket may introduce some play, they are likely present more so to decouple the pipe from the tank (shock absorption). If memory serves, the stock pipe was rock solid.

Anyone else experience this, and have a working fix ?

Thanks.
