Nice bike! I have looked at a couple of these 650s now and it seems they make great adventure bikes... I have been looking for a bigger bike andI have been messing with the idea of building something similar. how is the gear spread? I know my ex500 motor had a low enough first gear combined with the bottom end torque you could really lug it down.

Loaded with 3 givi hardcases, running around 75mph it will get 51mpg, range with combined holigan right hand is around 180 miles.

I will have to try that next time I get pulled over ![]() itz gotta' work better than my last excuse to the DPS out here in Arizona yes, he pulled me over then said he thought he saw some light btwn the road surface and my DRZ front wheel (imagine that )I said I did not recall what the bike did, cuz I had just been bitten by a bee that had worked his way inside my helmet. ........no, really, I did get bit by a bee or something, even though it was a few minutes before the said incident I even showed him the bite mark. wrote me a warning and said "ride safe oldtimer" ![]() of course, now I had to behave for 6 months until that warning dropped off of my record. But it was better than a ticket ![]() ....damn "E" motor, always causing trouble!

I just bought Denvet's Thinja, it's still in VA & I'm dreamwheeling here in AZ. I was wondering about the lack of a chain guide on the swingarm ahead of the rear sprocket for offroad? No matter where you ride here we get into rocks occaisionally.

The plastic aftermarket one on my KTM gets gouged accasionally. The way I look at it, if it hits something, chances are the sprocket or chain would've taken the hit instead?

I usually build chain guides as tensioner/guides up close to the swing arm pivot and make them pivot at the attach point. Not too vulnerable.
