Rode "The Snake"
       And "Back of the Dragon"     Ran into LadyDraco's husband and a Valk rider from Texas in Tazewell and it was suggested to ride north on 16 into WV and loop back on 52. So me and my gal went to "War" ;-)  Stayed at Floyd, VA for 2 days and finished the trip by riding back down the BRP to 58 and back home.    We had a blast and am very happy with my new Valk. It was awesome to pull around a steep mountain switchback with the engine smoothly turning 1200 rpms, then pulling right up the hill.

My local Honda dealer has a 97 tourer for sale. Has some god awful fairing on it. Kind of a half moon around the headlight with a blade type windshield. Been looking but can't seem to find a decent oem windshield. Anyone have a source for those original Honda Tourer windshields?

I like the clearviewshields They are the same curve/shape as OEM just a little thicker ..
And instead of the O around the head light that oem has,they have a upside down U .. Makes it way easier to remove when you have Cobra driving lights. But you'd need the OEM hardware for mounting...

 As for winter it's always a tuff month... Thank goodness it's shorter..  I really liked this photo of a BumbleBee Valk...I have had it in my folder for a long time .. The photo reminds me of better days yet to come for riding.... :angel:  Link to the calendars.. February Calendar !!

And ya'll know what that means Calendar time...  It has come in like a Lion here in SWVA...  I would like to thank Our own FStop for sending me this great photo.. It's of the Grape Town School built in 1884 and served the community until 1949. One Teacher, Seven Grades. It is near Luckenbach, Texas in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.  Thank You Charlie... He does take some amazing photos and this is a pretty out of the way place, but with where he lives, he has some great back roads to play on.
A little chilly riding into work today at 32, but it's supposed to warm to almost 60 today. Texas riding weather is definitely here!

Yes he does... But then again that is what he does for a living..
He is involved in making Commercials... His photos are always crisp and clear... I very seldom have to re touch his shots... Other then taking out trash or wires...

After reading this thread and being in the "Get a different Bike" mood, I rode 120 miles south to test ride a 2003 Valkyrie.
I was sorely disappointed  I knew low speed handling would be a bit ponderous, but it was unrideable. I almost dumped it several times on the test ride. The front end would tuck in slow speed turns. The motor was a revelation.  All in all it was a sad ride home as I was expecting to be on the Valkyrie. I do hope there was something wrong about the bike and I am simply missing the point. |

The only things I could think was wrong with the 03 ..
Was rear car tire ? .. Or the air pressure was way off ... Some people never check it .. Believe it or not...  HB said that his can do slow U turns nice and tight... NO tuck in on his Valks... But he no longer runs a CT on his ... Sorry your test ride sucked... Try it again sometime...
