Shark Helmet quality?

Can anyone vouch for Shark helmet quality?

I'm thinking about a Shark as my next lid, but need a solid performer that fits the budget requirement. I'm looking at the Speed R-Sauer model.

I had an RSR . Good helmet ,but the eye port was a bit small.

I currently have 2 the Shark RSI and the Shark Evoline 2. I have been vary happy with both. The build is top notch on both. Easy on and off shields, removable liners and great paint. The RSI is the lightest helmet I have own so far.
When I ride the sport bike I wear the RSI and the Evoline when on the HD. The only issues have been the RSI is not vented as well as some others and the shield on the Evoline rattles when up past the 3rd click at speed.

For disclosure I tend not to buy the main stream helmets like KBC, Shoei and Arai, I like the smaller Euro company best> I guess I dont want to be part of the herd.

I have an Evoline 2. Apart from the weight and extra noise that come from being a modular helmet, it's pretty great. Very good quality.

Had a Shark RSX. Every bit as good as Arai (have 3) or Shoei (had 2) for fit and finish.

Ive own a couple, and I like them. One is the Racer R and its great in hot days but too noisy. The other is an RSR, thats my wife's helmet, and she LOVES it. She loves how quiet and lite it is. I highly recommend them.
One thing to point out is the ease of the mechanism to change visors.
You will not be disappointed.

I can only speak to the Evoline helmets. Ive owned both the Evoline I and II. The finish on both helmets was very good. Comfort was decent AFTER I removed a little foam pad that was attached unnder the liner in the forehead area. I've got a head shape that can wear any helmet brand right out the box....well I thought so until I bought my first Evoline. After that minor surgery all was fine. Not a bad helmet just dont expect any real venting. It`s weak. They're well built just don't expect Arai or Shoei build quality.

Thanks for all the great input, I mean for the price $377 it seems like a solid helmet. So, I plan to try on quite a few helmets on at the International Motorcycle Show this weekend in Atlanta.

I own and use four RSR-2's- a Fujiwara rep, a DuHamel rep, a Foggy Tribute, and a black carbon. Great fit, great finish, very comfortable, very thick visors, and easily removed and replaced visors when needed. Easily the equivalent of my Arai RX7-RR's and Shoei X-11. Can't vouch for any other models though.

I've had an S900 for about a year or so. Really excellent quality all the way around. Better than my last Shoei, an RF1000. Visor change setup is the easiest I've ever used.

great quality but the real test was when 3 days before leaving for a long trip and the liner snap broke they took care of me.

Cycle gear said i had it for 90+ days so i had to deal with Shark.
Called Shark and they asked where my cycle gear was.
10 min later, they called me back and said to go there and get fixed up
No new liner... they changed out the helmet!

When my evoline 2 dies, I'll get an evoline something as long as they don't mess it up.
It's as nice as my Arai and Shoei (as expensive too!)

My wife and I both have Evoline IIs and are very pleased with them. They are one of the few modular helmets I can fit my chin in.

If you are getting the the evoline, here are some observation after spending 35,000km and 2.5 year with Evoline 2:

1) not the best air-flow helmet in full face mode - it needs a rear extractor back of your head as it gets warm there on a hot day- i ride touring upright position on a vstrom650 with a mid size screen. - i dont use it as a open helmets other than at stop lights and parking lots -

2) quality is a 4.5 out of 5 - liners stay in shape after close to 1 dozen of washes

3) if you are in the market for a evoline, make sure you get the evoline 3 - better liners, tab allowing opening visor and chin bar in one step; and most importantly a 200grams reduction in weight (biggest complaint of version 1 and 2) and claimed improved aero-dynamics.

4) According to SHARP testing UK, it has better side impact absorption to Shoei Multitec (no results for Neotec yet)
