To answer my own question, in case someone is also looking, found an excellent mechanic on the south shore of montreal; forgot his name but he's in the canada ktm race team (as a mechanic) as seems to be a reference. He works at Moto Duroy.
Not only that, but contrary to the other montreal ktm shop I've not been impressed with, they actually STOCK PARTS! :) So, at least that's settled. :) |

starting issue
hey guys, have a question. 2005 KTM 640 with a Odessey pc310 about 4 years old. I went out for about an hour ride today came home , used the red shut off so I didnt wake the neighbor, and hit it back to normal. It was still daytime ( neighbor is on shift work ) and I think I might have left the key in the on position and high beams on for an hour or so. I bring it in, did some adjustments on the front wheel, and go to start it and it wouldnt start. ( remember im only guessing that I left the light on ) I am getting a high speed clicking sound from around the battery area. Im gonna put it on a charger but curious, does this sound like a cylanoid or more like low battery?
thanks!!!

No, I didnt try to kick start, a buddy was saying it would be hard on the alternator if the bat was dead. I threw it on a charger for a few hours. Never kicked started it before. Infact never kick started a bike period, always had the start button
.I will give'r a go! thanks!

I was told something to do with the demand placed on the system with a dead battery would pull from the alternator putting too much stress on it, that the battery should have some life in it before kicking... I dunno, Im far from a mechanically inclined person lol. Just what i was told, thus the reason that I didnt try it. Putting the battery back in it in a few. /Fingerscorssed
