Bandit1250 vs XJR1300 vs GSX1400

Im curious as to how these machines compare. From what ive read they are similar in terms of performance. I own a 1250GT which has been great for week long road trips aswell as everyday riding. I really do love the look on an XJR1300 I seen while gettin my bandit serviced. When I purchased my bike I have now I was seriously considering a GSX1400 but decided to stick with what I know as I had previously owned another 1250. Can any of you tell me how these machines compare overall? Would be great to hear from others experiences of these bikes, they're just the sort im into. (I also like cruisers and big tourers).

I own a 07 Bandit 1250... a great inexpensive very fast bike. Lots of low RPM power, not much top end power, though.
The seat needed improvement from the day I bought it new, so I had it re-done with a different shape and type of foam. The bike can also feel a little top-heavy. I have only about 15,000 miles on it and have had no mechanical problems what-so-ever. Just my two cents on the Bandit... i think its a great bike.

Canada has not been importing any GSX1400's or XJR1300's. First time I saw one of them was 2 yrs ago in Auckland.

USA doesn't have them either... i like to looks of the GSX14

I like the big naked bikes too, but alas, they aren't available to me. Just from what I have read in British magazines, it would be a hard pick for me between the GSX1400 and the XJR1300. I guess it would take a test ride to decide it. Now if Honda would come and play with the CB1300, I would almost certainly go with Big Red.

I never rode any of them, but for what it's worth, I know a couple of people
who rode all, and even one guy who owned all of them.

Even the ZRX1200.
He actually prefers the ZRX to all of the above, and says it's the fastest of
the bunch.

All other guys and local magazines usually agree that the GSX1400 was
the best of the bunch, but most of the guys (and mags) never had a
chance to try the CB1300 which I believe could spank a few other.

XJR is supposedly very thirsty too (50%+ on the bandit 1250).

Anyways, I love the XJR & GSX for their looks.. but I'd rather ride an
upgraded (brakes & suspension & some bling) 1250.

EDIT: Yeah, this post is useless. I just like those bikes so I figured I'd push my
way into the thread. Deal with it!

I dont see why these 1300 and 1400 cc bikes dont make more power from the factory. 130 - 140 hp is what they should make right out the box.

Some of them are air/oil cooled, and 15-20 years old..

There's no doubt you can get that kind of power from them, but that was
not the point or a goal for those bikes. They're just supposed to be big,
naked standards with a lot of torque and not too much power to keep
the revs down.

You can always get an older FZ1 or something like that if you want a
screaming inline 4.

These were something else.

It's like comparing the V7 Classic from guzzi with current 750cc naked
bikes and wondering why it only has 50hp compared to the modern
100hp bikes.

Apples and oranges.

We're just about to get the CB1100 imported everywhere, and guess what, it's got only 75hp
from a 1100cc engine! Half of what you'd like.

For me - it's perfect.

they make more than enough power. I think if you ever get the chance to ride one and twist the loud handle you will find it is very quick. I am more concerned about 0-60 times and 60-80 times than quarter mile or top speed.

Thats true. My Zrx makes about 115 and its plenty fast for me. I was just thinking the hp seems kind of low for the displacement. I lnow they have oodles of torque. Mmmm torque.
