Been there.... This was my fist season. I get enough 5s to come in near last on the Advance line at ever comp. Usually I can either do the section and get a zero or completeley screw it up and get a 5.
Looks fun, totaly different from the terain we have out west.

Don't be discouraged, it really does get easier! It was pretty tough today with the heavy leaf cover and slick mud underneath. I just finished looking over the scores and they were pretty high in all classes.
There was a "cheater line" for that log crossing... you could have gone all the way out to the left on the near side of the creek and then had a straight shot at the log. It takes some time to get used to picking lines too... Let's get some riding in this winter. I'll be in touch via PM. Thanks for coming out - I hope you had fun! |

Great fun Craig! Good meeting you and looking forward to doing some training over the winter.
DrKayak... The terrain is hugely different from South Jersey where I live to Delaware... at least where I ride at home to the area where the meet was. At home I never feel the need to use the rear brake at all... probably another huge mistake, not getting used to using all the controls.

Always look for those, and don't think that the path you "see" as you first look into a section is the best one,I love to set up sections with alternate routes to pick up the splits

Wayne,
Glad to have been able to host you for your first ever trial. There were several newbies who rode their first event yesterday. Section two was quite challenging for a first time beginner. The learning curve can be steep as you experienced. Having a photo record of your first ride is to treasure. Oh the stories that can be told. Hope to ride with you in the off season and get you in tune for next year. Craig can keep you updated on riding opportunities. Greg, the guy in the blue hat |
