Morning! Just back from a weekend hunting trip to TX. Two less Bambi's in the population.
![]() Had the GS in last week for oil change and post trip look over. Got one of those calls I did not need. Rear U-Joint going bad at only 24,000 miles. ![]() Apparently (and I knew this before) there was a lot of corrosion on the back of the drive shaft - looks like the original owner had ridden in salted snow roads. There is a small access port on the bottom about 2 inch big. Figure the salt got on it and started corrosion. BMW does not think those shafts should be rebuilt and its almost $800 for a new one. Did some research here and found a place in Green Bay, WI that can rebuild them and put in grease fittings for $290. Had Jerry send it there, hope it works out.
