What, no pics?
![]() ![]() Only took what, six years of selling every ST with a set of risers and aftermarket screen before they figured it out?

You're kidding right? It was supposed to be a simple, light SPORTtourer:
Good if not thrilling motor - check. Belt drive - check. Great fuel economy - check. Relatively light weight - check. Relatively nimble handling - check. Canbus electrical system - err, maybe. F800S with the Europe-only lower fairing panels - check. F800ST - err, no check. F800GT - a smaller, fuller tourer version of a 1200, with more complexity to go wrong? and a higher price tag on a bike that was already too expensive for its class? - not only no, but hell no! Where is the promised Husqvarna 900cc SPORT tourer???

![]() Nothing but a warmed over 800ST... ![]() I had an ST as a loaner for 2 days.. It was on a very short list of bikes I tried and disliked immensely. BMW needs to strike back at Triumph with half the K1600 motor.. an inline triple.

I like it too.. seems a worthy successor of the R1100RS.

If I didn't already have my F800ST nicely set up, including with Jesse bags, this would be very tempting.

The F800ST is on my shortlist of mid-weight sport tourers (along w/ VFR, Sprint), so this bike interests me. I wonder how long until I can find one on the used market for under $7K?

To each thier own. Me, I still love my ST with stock windscreen and no bar risers-the new GT is distinctly unappealing to me in comparison. I did over 8000 miles on my ST in June '10 going coast to coast, around the Gaspe Peninsula and back. The new F-GT looks like a poor attempt to create a mini RT or K-GT. They've removed the 'sport' from a fine, light weight sport tourer.

Every ST I've seen used, when I was looking, were either factory lowered for female riders or had huge windscreens and risers for the 'an RT is too expensive' crowd.
It was conceived as as SPORT tourer, but given that the S model lasted only one year here, and the ST sales have been poor, I think they'll have more success with this. Maybe. |

Price may be an issue, but for street riders this looks more capable than the F700GS....
