Well the Ascot will be down for a while.

Clutch cable broke on the way to work this morning. Almost ran into the back of a car when it snapped.

Guess the V max will be the main transport for a while.

That shouldnt be too hard to replace. How much is the cable? That reminds me. I need to lube all of mine. What is the best way to do it?

I had every intention of grabbing this tag this morning. I woke up, it was a gorgeous day, and I figured I'd hit the gun store before heading out for the tag. On the way, I decided to go down a road I'd never rode before, and the next thing I knew I'd spent two hours tooling around in the Moore County countryside. I had so much fun that I went home, grabbed the Ural and the dog, and did it all over again on a the Ural. I'll call it a win.

Nah it isn't hard but I have to find one for a 30 year old bike first. The ball at the end of the cable in the lever pulled off so lubrication would not have helped in this case. I just start at the top and spray WD-40 down it while working the cable. There is a cable luber tool they sell. Not sure how it works though.

I will find a cable and order it when I have the cash. At least I have a back up bike now. (until I find someone that wants to buy it)

I know NC-Okie's a lot closer than I am as far as dealer connections go, and not sure if there's any other dealers closer...but Parts Unlimited and Motion Pro both offer clutch cables for your Ascot. PU #K28-5502K for $11 and Motion Pro #02-0106 for $17 so not too expensive. I sell a lot of both brands and they both are good quality.

Yeah I have the parts unlimited #'s already. I looked up most of the parts like that up previously so I would have them on hand. It's more a matter of getting to the store, while they are open, to pay for it and having the extra cash to do that as well. The prices are the same about everywhere. $10.95 plus shipping. Mail order is a dollar cheaper for the cable but $3 more in shipping so local is the cheaper route.
If I can sneek out early Thursday I should be able to order it then or Friday I hope. Either way I still have the Yami to ride just not as comfortable.

We all have our fingers crossed. 20 point lead. Even if jimmy win the race we only have to finish 15 to win the championship. But it's racing and anything can happen.

Yes we have 3 indy car teams, 2 cup teams and 2 nationwide teams. 450,000 square feet. I hope you came inside.
