It ain't a moped.

After looking at those photos, I'm gonna say she likely dropped a valve... am I right? This is the second low-mile Aprilia on this forum to have engine trouble. This does not bode well for the I-Talians...

Try to find another one with some major crash damage and salvage the engine.

I've been searching for a used engine and have been asking on the Aprilia Forum and the Scarabeo Group. I've got time, so I'm not in a hurry.

Yea thats about the best you can do for now. A salvaged bike would be ideal. However, they ain't as easy to come around, as say a Honda, I'd recon. You'll have to look hard. A used engine is possible though.
Since you ain't in no hurry, it'll probably come sooner or later. Or if you or you know someone than can fabricate an engine to fit it that'd be good. But then again, with that much work its not worth it.

Contact inmate El Dangeroso. He bought and successfully revived my project Beo 150. It came to me as a non-running roller. I ignored it for several years and then sold it to him in the same condition. I don't remember what he said was wrong with it, but the carb side ingestion is a known issue with some model years, so that certainly could have been it.
Anyway, he may have some words of wisdom or resources that make it unnecessary to throw in the towel. Good luck!

![]() I sold it to a guy that needed good body and chassis to replace a rusty low mileage runner. Win-win.
