The best bike is the one in your garage.

I looked them up in Wikipedia. I really don't think the DR weighs that much, it's much lighter than my BMW which is about 380.

I don't think we are saying one bike is better than the other, but that for some uses a lighter bike might be preferable. Certainly for me it is :). The lighter the better!

ok - bit of a can of worms there...

I just googled them - but I did look for pre-90s bikes, so the DR might have shaved some pounds...

And Jeff - water cooled are out. Heck my 1988 CR250 was 62HP and 230lbs I was trying to keep it apples to apples.

not sure if they were wet or dry weights... This was not supposed to be a piece of scholarly research or anything...

Sorry I had to jet off on tech day just as Jim walked up to my bike with a handful of tools but I have been late a few times and its not pretty.

Bob- get yourself a filter and we can meet up in kingston, lay the damn things over and swap fronts and see. under a minute to have the wheel off so will be a quick way to check.

Did we look at part numbers from rotors comparing the SM to the E - just so you know the front end on mine is off an '03.

I'd say meet me after work today (I work in Gan) but I rode the scooter - 19HP and 360 lbs in case anyone is interested...

No problem ! We can all understand getting some "good points" to cash in when required ;)

Again, thanks!. Would have to trailer it because i didn't bother with insurance for the winter. Let me know if you bring the bike to work...only 15 min from my place.

Got to keep the place safe for our women folk.

Fuck me, that's five minutes from my place, and the wife goes to work near that time. And I'm gone earlier.

Is it open season on men out walking?

Road ride

Heading to Prescott Fri. for oil change on the S10. Probably the last one under warranty. Anyone want to come for the ride?

Good here. We head south to AZ again on Dec15. Just spent a bundle on my bike trailer turns out the axle was bent. Not gonna cry cause I got it cheap to start with though. Glad to know the connie is in a good home. They are a nice working machine. Just hoping Kathi don't bust any bones this year in the desert, she still is not right from the crash last Feb. I guess a split ligament is tougher to heal than a couple of busted bones. She sees a surgeon in Smith Falls tomorrow so who knows what he will say. Gonna meet some other ADV guys again this year we hope down there.
