Hey Cats....great time was had with all them open gates in the GWNF this weekend

Cornerspin class

Gastone, macorell24 and I survived the CS class last weekend. That was probably the best two days of learning I've had in a long time. I probably only wiped out 30 times, including one spectacular low side which ended up taking Aaron down too. I thought he was going to smack me after that.

Alright, I need your opinions. I'm looking at getting another modular helmet to replace my old Veemar Jiano which is starting to fall to pieces. Here are the two that I'm primarily looking at:

1) Shoei Neotec, and 2) Nolan N104.

Anyone have any experience with either of these helmets? I'm also open to suggestions of other models to look at. My big criterias are: 1) NOISE, 2) water proof, 3) weight, 4) fogging, 5) ability to use a pin-lock visor (if fogging is an issue), etc...

If you're going as high as the Neotec, I'd suggest also looking at the Schuberth. I've got the latter. It's extremely quiet and comes with a pinlock visor and one insert. Pretty light too. However, part of its quietness is due to a lot of padding around the ears, which some find uncomfortable. Plus, if you remove the main chin curtain to make it cooler (I haven't done this), it will be a bit noisier.

Personally, I'd pick either the Shoei or the Schuberth based on fit. Morton's I think carries both; if so you could try them on.

No personal experience, but my friend has a HJC Symax and loves it. Just saw the Rider magazine review of the new HJC RPHA Max (Dec. 2012). The helmet got high marks - light and "the quietest modular I have ever used."
