Swingarm Paint
The PO spilled gas on the swingarm and tranny and they're a nice piss yellow now.
Is there a good aftermarket silver that matches closely and doesn't need a primer? I've got things apart for a clutch replacement and now's the perfect time for a touch up.

Man I'm surprised gas would do that to engine paint. Did u try something like S100 on it? I know it's a little harsh but since you are planning on reprinting anyway, I wonder it it would take it off with some good scrubbing?

Plus, it'll probably be a base coat clear coat with a primer, no? I'd like a sliver in a Home Despot type of paint with primer built in. I tried S100 and no luck. From reading on UKGS's Forum the stains won't come out with anything you can do besides top coat it.

which of your bikes are you trying to paint?
In the meantime: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=382166 Also...if you've got any part on the bike (same color) that's removable...take that part to a PROFESSIONAL PAINT STORE (not Lowe's or HDepot) and they can MATCH the paint and put it in a PROFESSIONAL rattle can with PROFESSIONAL quality nozzle. Otherwise...you're screxpdgdkskdkdk!..... LaurelPerryOnLand screwed with this post 11-14-2012 at 10:19 AM |

Thanks for the link which led to another thread which .....
Looks like Krylon Dull Aluminum with Krylon Satin Clear will do the trick and should be available around the corner.

I have little to say
|
Uuuuuh.....this is gonna be good.
Photos please...before and after. If you want my opinion (and you probably don't), repaint with rattle can only after trying other remedies like rubbing compound or a wax/cleaner containing an abrasive like pumice. |

The Rustoleum ultra cover semi gloss clear finishes the job (uv resistant/non yellowing) available there too. The trick is to do light coats - comes out as close as you are going to get. Even my local body shop could not come up with a better match.

Kryon Dull Aluminum is the stuff...
http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...=821333&page=2 Scroll down to post #26. I painted the handlebar clamps, risers and the back housing for the dash. I like it without any clear, but a light coat of satin clear does make it look like powdercoat. |

Duplicolor Ford Silver metallic w/clear coat almost R1100 oem silver-a tad brighter but no one can tell the difference after polishing the original paint.
