I thought about getting racks, not sure if Wolfman racks would work with the tail rack. The rack is a love/hate kinda thing, it is in the way sometimes (two up doesnt really work because the rack takes up some seat room) it also makes on/off a bit harder, on the plus side it mounts easy, is very sturdy and is large enough to actually use unlike most of the other racks out there..

Everything I've found (what little there is) is 'replace the head unit'. I'm replacing the battery 'just in case' this weekend (and with a Lithium one, in the hope that it will ALWAYS either deliver solid voltage or no voltage, like every other lithium I've ever used in other devices). If not, it'll be new head unit time.

*sigh*

I don't tend to keep the WR on a tender; it'd been fine and doesn't actually even have a pig-tail installed. Be changing /that/, I can tell you.

Still a great bike. Just no longer as cheap as it was.

How are the HDB indicators as opposed to the Zeta's for actual visibility. I have a set of the latter installed, but the HDBs and the associated mirrors look... great.

Motorcycle riding wasn't the focus of this trip, so no real ride report and that was the only pic I got of the WR. We did get to ride 3 days out of 8 though. My better 1/2 brought his X-Country & my dad his Suzuki 800 Intruder. With the cruiser in the mix, that meant pavement. We rode to Las Vegas & spent the night, and stopped by China Ranch on our return trip. That's where the pic was taken. I'm still running the stock X tires, and they are fine in dirt as long as you're going in a straight line. They can be squirrly when turning. I'm getting Distanzias soon which should help. We also rode up to Dante's View.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the WR and don't really miss my Husky too much. I did love the extra power it had, and it was less effected by wind since it was heavier, but I feel more comfortable on the WR. We don't ride fast anyway, so it has enough power. I was feeling a bit puny being on a 250 in the middle of really heavy traffic on I-15 in Vegas though!

Once I finish getting the WR all set up, it should be great for traveling. I have an appointment with Renazco to have the seat done in January, I'll get my tires soon, and may switch to a larger saddlebag setup w/Rotopax mount. I also need to get the clutch adjustment dialed in. I'm on the fence about getting R wheels. That was my original plan, but for now I'm going to keep my KLX. I think the WR is a better bike, but the low end grunt of the KLX works better for me in the dirt. The WR will be used for traveling, and we usually don't do more than fire roads on trips, and I've found that the Distanzia's work pretty good for that.

+1. The rack is ugly on a WR but it works really good. I dont want to lose my stuff so the rack stays.

+2. I've had mine for 3 years. Talk about strong. Last year a buddy got a flat tire when we were riding in the woods. I put him on back for the 45 minute ride back to the campground for a new tube. When we were finished, he complained that his butt was sore from sitting on THE RACK the whole way. He's 220 Lbs in gear.

I inspected the rack and mounts - no damage at all.

Mine in Ky is about $100/year. But I'm also getting old, discount this, discount that. No matter how you look at it though, they are really pretty cheap to insure.

My r1200gs is cheaper to insure than the wrr. Mine is about $320/ year. The GS is about $250
