Your machine falls nicely into the proper Dual Sport category, so the Overlander 30 will mount with a standard fitment. As you may have gathered from this thread, time spent experimenting with the positioning of the included Rack Loops before getting out the drill, is time well spent. Here's a snap of a UK customer's Husky complete with Overlander 30 and additional US-20 tail pack: ![]() His set-up is a little unusual, with the bags mounted vertically, on account of the rear rack he's got on there. The Overlander 30 was designed to eliminate the need for a rack. So, normally, the bags would be mounted much further back and more diagonally, as you'll have seen on traveltoad's KTM. This provides a lot more seat space than our UK man has chosen for himself there, by fitting a rack and RotopaX. After a few dry-runs you'll find your ideal position. As long as the bags aren't contacting with the exhaust (which is pretty exposed on the TE, so you'll probably need an after-market heat shield), you'll be good to go. Whichever bag you decide to mount between the Overlander packs, depends on entirely on how much gear you need to haul. Like traveltoad, my preference is to go as light as possible, so I'd suggest the US-10 or 20, which, like the US-30, attaches in seconds via the included Alloy Hook Straps. Photos of the various US tail packs in situ are shown below: US-5 (fitted with optional Kriega Cam Straps) ![]() US-10 ![]() US-20 ![]() US-30 ![]() Any other similarly sized item (attached with optional Kriega Cam Straps) ![]() Full spec etc is available here: http://www.kriega.us/overlander-30-m...annier-system/ I hope that helps, but please feel free to PM me a contact number and I'll be happy to call and go through it in more detail if required. Cheers, Michael

Faded material?
Hi, I have a question about Kriega products in general.. Why do some of them appear brownish? It's like the black has faded into a browny maroon color, and others are nice a black? I have the R8 Waist Pack and the tool roll that came in it was this faded color.. however the tool roll that I had purchased a few months earlier was a nice black color. I have also noticed this in photos across the intewebs as well. I am going to purchase the awesome Overlander 30 kit real soon and I was really hoping it wasn't faded. I have seen some that are and some that aren't in pics online.
I was wondering why this is, and if it is indeed fading and if it is intentional? It seems really random for such awesome but expensive gear.. I just don't understand why I guess! Am I missing something? |

As you say, we did have a few random items that use 1000D Cordura in their construction that faded slightly. However, this has been redressed and is no longer an issue. It is purely cosmetic, does not fade any further over time and in no way affects performance. But if this did happen to be encountered in a newly purchased product, if informed immediately, it is absolutely no problem for it to be returned for an exchange under our standard 10-year warranty, which covers all Kriega products against material or manufacturing defects. Kind regards, Michael

Good to know. Thanks Michael. I never bothered to return the tool roll because as you said it worked fine. I was just hoping that when I purchase the Overlander30 It would be good. Thanks for your reply. Love my Kriega gear! ![]() Jono. |

Correct. But Greg (your man Down Under) is a top lad and operates to the same exacting tolerances as the rest of the Kriega network, so you'll be taken great care of. Cheers, Michael

taking the plunge - hope to stay dry
Mike,
I have been vacillating for months and your Black friday special put me over the edge. I have been using the Coyote GL for a couple of years and have had several wet gear issues, so I'll run Kriega 30l panniers and hopefully keep my gear dry. I really wanted no racks and this should fill the bill nicely. After I get comfortable I,ll order the mount kit for my other bikes. Can't wait ! |
