Super cool, but what the hell would you EVER use that thing for?
I mean it can't get more than 10mpg, topping out around 55mph, rides like shite, right?
I guess you could plow a few miles of driveway if that's what you needed to.

Again, I love the truck, I'm just trying to justify it in my own mind (or to convince the SO)

They get somewhere around 6mpg IIRC.

Don't ride too badly with the big, squishy tires on em. DO ride kinda rough with the old style military tires.

They WILL do at least 65mph. AMHIK

Most are "works in progress", but this one is pretty much finished:

My friend Chuck's F250 that I swear gets painted every 3 years because he wants a new color scheme :

Gratuitous photo of yrs trly with my post-rain high gloss paint job :

If someone posts pics of the 4wd one up I'll bring it over here. That one is uber-cool.

Id be in heaven man. All of them slick sixties fords and a 73-75 dentside highboy! Im jealous!

Maybe I should add: The question is not so much what he would use one for, as it is what would he use two for.

Yes, he bought a second one.

Only if it has true duals

Miss my old power stroke

Only let me down once at 210k about 250 miles from home when the vacuum pump seized and the belt melted on the pulley. Drove it to 3 closed parts stores with no power anything till I gave in and called AAA she was starting to get hot.

My cool (to me) truck:

Really love those old fords....would like to buy my dad one, he always had an old beater f250 when I was growing up. I'd like to see him rocking a shiny one.

My friend stopped by this AM to show off his new toy.

White stuff around the windshield is frost.

One owner, garage kept, 57,000 miles, just had the motor rebuilt, new computer, new battery.

Got a great deal on it: elderly couple didn't use it any more, and were happy to see it go to a good home. Only serious problem: needs a new water pump for the sink.

It's an '87. Water-cooled motor. Previous owner took delivery in Germany, then bought the truck back home after a trip around Europe.

I want that!
Our old '74 Westy came with the same story. I think it used to be a popular way to go.
Did I say I want that?

That is what I use our '68 Mog for. The driveway to our vacation rental (SkyLodgeVacation.com 10% off for inmates) is almost a quarter of a mile long. Over the years we've had some epic snow storms that left people stranded at their places until they shelled out for a dozer to clear them out. This little Unimog has pushed heavy, wet snow the size of a small car for very long distances. On low snow years like last I sometimes wish for a plush 1/2 ton with a plow though.
