how about the mitas E08 and/or 09 ?
I had somethuing on the back of the XR with an 08 looking tread and it did well enough. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what tyre it was ... I was just about to replace it with the same when the bike was stolen - and I hadn't written down anywhere what tyre it was - doubly annoying as I tried 3 different types before settling on this one and had decided this was a keeper :( spent a quick 5 minutes hoping to remove the rear whell this morning and stick it in the car. bugga! Every other bike has been okay with a few lumps of wood chocked under the motor - the extra 30 kgs or so of the DR means I think it's time to buy a lift/stand! Crap, now I've got to find one that will actually cope with the 160 odd kilograms of DR :( Anybody know where I can get something locally? every time I get a new bike/car/whatever it seems I have to buy more tools :) slapper screwed with this post 11-13-2012 at 03:50 PM |

ATV Lifter
I have the Repco atv lifter, good for 680 Kg's. Has a removable handle, lock bars and is able to be raised and lowered by foot pedals leaving your hands free to control the bike. If you join (free) the Repco club they send you a 20% discount voucher. I can move my Tenere around while raised with no probs cause of the handle. The ebay version has none of these features. Hope this makes it a tadd easier to choose 1.

I have one of the repco ones as well, and so does Kev69 (I saw his and wanted one) . Being able to move the bike around once lifted is quite convenient if you don't always get to do the whole job at once like me.....
I got mine on sale at $149 be quick & it might just save you a bit of cash I think they are something like $250 normally. |

Gawler Motorcycle Expo and Swap Meet
Haven't heard too much discussion about this, so I thought I'd stick it here for info. It's on today (Sunday 18th Nov) at the Gawler showgrounds.
Amongst several things being exhibited or on display is Peter from Hoey Racing, who loves talking to people about their suspension problems. Plus a heap of old bikes... Might see you there... http://www.gawlerexpo.com/

I saw a promo sign for this as we went through Gawler on the way home form the Flinders. I could clean out my shed of old riding gear, a DRZ250 and a WRF290. Wouldn't my wife be happy! Gawler has changed in the 30 years since I last visited there. |

The ride report should be a hoot!
