Wow, you lowered yours, but I like mine sitting high. I've got a Ducati with Race Tech revalved Showas, and an Ohlins hydraulic adjustable rear, which works real damn good on a smooth road. Real good. But on the KTM, which isn't quite as fast in a straight line as the Duc, it just flat hauls ass on a less than smooth road, the feeling of confidence is extraordinary compared to the Duc. Oh yeah, got some Dunlop Q2s on it last week. Almost threw it into the ground, it turns in so fast now, it just added to the confidence inspiring of the bike.

To each his own. I've got a smooth road bike and a bumpy road bike now. Except my ole lady likes riding the Duc now. I don't think I'll mess with the White Powers on the KTM, I like the way it works. A click here, a click there, and I'm good to go.

Haul ass brothers, it's warm and sunny here this week.

How cool is it that there promo prototype has melted slicks on it?
Badass......the wheels are cool too, but disliking the swingarm.

Hope you guys are all enjoying the transition weather. How's the NE shaping up these days? Still slimy on the road? Just warmed back up here and I will get in a fall ride this weekend! WooHoo!!

Meh. Will be 37F overnight. Rain predicted for the weekend. The leaves are still on the ground, so when it's wet, it's slippery.

Blizzard last week resulted in some roads being salted.

Salt roads! My favorite...
We got a full coat of cinders on the road, since several inches fell over the weekend. Cinders on the pavement make for some interesting lane changes and intersections. Not to mention the blast of cinder dust, off the big rigs and SUV's.

I was out of town for the snow, so didn't get to see the kids play in it, next time...

Mother of God, KTM have wicked it up to such an insane level, it makes any Ducati look like a scooter! If I took five Viagra and went for a Swedish massage I couldn't get that hard. I just hate it when I start coveting material things.

SMT is better than the SM, but it's still not great. Locks the rider into one position and has a nasty lip at the back.

I think the SMT seat is much more comfortable than the SM-- but that's based on just a 1/2 hour ride. I didn't notice the lip.

Stock seat comfort was quite good on the SMT. I did not like the turbulance off the wind screen on the SMT. My SM is much better for me on the highway as far as turbulance either with or without my 690 screen in place.

Regarding the SMT differing from the SM, is there more than a better seat, styling, and more fuel capacity? (Aside from the 950-990 aspect) because I'm still seeing SM's for 5grand vs 10-13gramd for an SMT.

If you haven't noticed I've missed my Katoom abit these days....

Well, you've said quite a lot-- styling, motor, comfort, performance, etc..

But the fact (well it's really imo ) is that the SM probably gives over 90% of the overall riding "experience" of the SMT (or R) for half (or less) the price.

The price issue sucks if you're a seller (of either) but represents a great opportunity if you're a buyer.

Would you feel more at ease being a total hooligan on a bike costing less than a new WR250 than one costing $13k?

With a little time and patience, you can find a used sm with all the farkles you would have to pay more for on a new bike.

A 950 SMR is more photogenic than an SMT
