Sure hope the bags and heated grips are retrofittable to the regular Diavel. My only real gripe is the small tank. Otherwise, I am extremely happy. I did switch to the touring seat and screen.

![]() No disagreement here....but I've owned several ugly bikes: GSA, 95 Tiger..hell, I'm no looker myself. But those bikes were FUN. For the type of riding I do, that Diavel would be off the charts in that category. I'll take ugly and fun over beautiful and useless all day long.

Bags for storage and windscreen to help mitigate wind blast on the interstate a bit? It's pretty ugly, but it's a practical consideration for those that want a Diavel but also want to do more with it than a day trip. I have absolutely no interest in a Multistrada or its chicken beak.

Diavel on CW's "Arrow"
Probably not many comic nerds like me on here, but...
There is a new show on the CW called "Arrow", based on the DC character "Green Arrow" (soft of a Robin Hood/Batman mashup). He is, of course, a billionaire playboy when not leaping rooftop to rooftop and he rides a Diavel. The bike only shows up in one scene per episode and is usually ridden in a very tame fashion. I would guess the CW doesn't have the budget to risk lunching a bike like that.

The looks of the bike took some time for me to adjust too as well....then riding the thing made that all go away.

I am about to sign on the dotted line for a base Diavel in red, and sell a couple of my current bikes to help afford it. I was not totally enamored with the looks either. I still prefer the looks of the Monster. But holy shite, that bike is fun! I was totally sold after a test ride, and a second ride did nothing to dissuade me. It is surprisingly light, comfortable and manageable, and unsurprisingly wildly fast. It has a couple of minor handling quirks, probably attributable to the fat rear tire, but easily manageable, and for me well worth the more comfortable seating position over the better handling Ducati bikes.
I understand that there are retrofit kits for the 2012 models that are just coming out that will allow you to retrofit seat, bags, hand rails and backrest of the Strada style. You don't need to do all, but if you want to add the backrest you need to add the hand rail kit. At some point I may have to do the backrest so my wife is comfortable on the back, although I've no intention of using this as a long touring bike.
