DRIVERS WANTED for 2013 season! All information at http://www.facebook.com/downhillmisfits The MISFITS are a mix of retired race car drivers, motorcycle riders and adrenaline junkies racing homebuilt, gravity powered cars at speeds over 60mph! We race on the second Sunday of the month in the Northern Baltimore County and Frederick County areas with other races planned in Cumberland and central PA. Loaner cars are available at every race.

Reminds me of vehicles we made in my neighborhood called "chugs". They were made of a board with two 2x4's nailed across it for axles. If neighbors left a lawnmower outside overnight the wheels would disappear. Those wheels were nailed onto the ends of the axles.
The deluxe models had steerable front axles and the more basic models were steered (sort of) by dragging a foot. They were amazingly dangerous and fun.

Just to give you an idea on speeds, my car is in the middle, it will do 60mph, the red car on the left and the blue car on the far right have been clocked at 70mph
![]() This car will be coming from Georgia to our races for 2013. It is still being tested, but it should be able to top 90mph!
