The greatest impediment to me post this ride report is that the time stamps on my cell phone pictures (which are mostly what these are) seem to be meaningless to the smugmug sorting widget and I lack the discipline (and/or memory) to sort them manually. *sigh*
![]() A couple of familiar faces.. ![]() Up the hill, on the way back to The Porch.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Dinner time at The Starlight Theatre.. ![]() Not that there is a direct correlation, but the door to the privy called out to have its picture taken.. ![]() We say our goodbyes to Ed29 and Texas Shadow, then head back down past the cemetery.. ![]() John

Morning comes and we ride out to The Hill..
![]() ![]() ![]() And beyond.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Opposite side of the road. What happens here? It appears that maybe somebody rides the little basket down to a point and sticks a stick in the river to measure depth, perhaps? *shrugs* ![]() We ride on into Marfa for lunch.. ![]() john

Did you say these are phone images??? Not your Canon? Guess it's the photog, not the camera. Great as always, please continue.

Samsung Galaxy S3. Some of the pics are with the Camera 360 app.
I'm not patient enough to try posting a report with Tapatalk, though at this rate it might actually be a lot faster than finding time at my workstation. John Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

After lunch we rode out past Prude Ranch to the McDonald Observatory..
![]() Quick trip inside to wander through the displays then a cup of coffee out on the veranda and we start feeling raindrops.. Time to head back to the bikes.. ![]() This followed us all the way to Balmorea, and the lightning display was impressive.. ![]() Awful picture, I know, but I wanted to remember the name of the place in Balmorea with the best green chile burritos in the land.. ![]() We decided to beat feet to Austin (Round Rock, truth be told) to drop-in on another brother on our way back to Indiana.. Today being Saturday and us needing to be home Monday evening, it was time to start making progress that direction, kind of... Today's numbers.. ![]() John

A long, picture-less day ends in Little Rock, Arkansas, after spending a large portion of the day catching-up and just generally having a nice visit in Round Rock..
![]() Monday is mostly a non-event as well, except to be riding in light rain more often than not, and grabbing lunch at the Cut Mart in Cairo, Illinois. Depressionville seems a more accurate name, but the people were friendly and the chicken was good.. ![]() Fuel stop in Effingham, then home.. ![]() Today's numbers.. ![]() Where we went.. ![]() It was a great way to slay a long weekend, and the bikes were the right ones for making all those miles in relative comfort. Sometimes it's nice just to get on and ride. John

BB is one of my favorite places in Texas to ride to. Always a great time on a place that to me,a Texan, is the real Texas. Glad you enjoyed that awesome place. Wide Open Spaces make for Wide Open Races...

We certainly did enjoy the ride. Pretty decent weather, even with the rain on Monday, and it's always good to run into friends out and about. And we didn't need any fancy maps to get where we were going.
