not from the gpx file. you could go old school and look at the county maps. They were posted earlier. I've used them while making the trail. it shows what kind of road each is, paved, graded dirt, unimproved.

I put the tracks into google earth. You can then "fly it" to get an idea of the road surface. It's pretty easy to tell but does leave some sections that are not readily definable.

OKlr,
Thanks for the tracks! One place you may check on is at the west end of the K Trail. I think that Hurd Creek Trl is now closed/private and you have to take the Clayton Trl at N34.58389 W95.23237 to N34.59517 W95.30674 then south. DRZ Charlie, School me. How did you make "Direct Route" sections in your route? When I try, mapsource just draws a little "out and back" leg from the nearest road part of the route. Thanks again ya'll. Rick

download either garmin basecamp, or google earth. If you get basecamp also download the free topo maps available on gpsdepot
as far as a gps, i would sugest one that is waterproof, and the best one's will have a cradle system to where you don't half to plug in plugs, just clicks in. the garmin zumo line is cool. alot use the nuvi 500 also |
