Count me IN, again! Truck w/camper and trailer. Will grab a site with water when I get there. Husky TE630 and TR650 Terra. Will be there early, and late, taking advantage of all offered, and some that is not!

good response from lots of people, many are familiar faces but great to see some noobs and fake noobies. i apologize if i could not reply to every post, but will do for the noobies. vets of this event could also provide answers and advise.
thanks for the enthusiasm and interest in this event. every year is always a blast; the riding is awesome and you'll meet a lot of good people.... ![]() for those new in the area, death valley is a national park with several hundreds of miles of dirt roads. 120+ miles in one day is common. that said, you need to have the fuel range and make sure your mule is healthy enough to get you back to the campground.... |

yes, it is. wish we can move it, but tradition won't let us do it. also, doing it on earlier part of march, we risk getting rain and snow; moving it into april will put a small gap between this and other events. there are people who expressed not being able to attend. really i felt sorry cuz they love to come and we enjoy riding with them. tough one....

That's correct. There was some discussion about the dates because of that, but in the end the pros of keeping it on these dates outweighed the cons.

yeah, riding IN and wish i can (done it couple of years). i have lots of stuff to bring to the event.
as always, we'll have incentives for all participants riding IN.... they also get the preferred camping area in the trees. many of them have good shade.ersin will be helping me set up the camping arrangement. the campground can accommodate 150 people easy. if he's reading this, he can post the campground layout on his first post (page 1 - post #4) to give you ideas what the place looks like. there are 12 rv full hook up sites. we have joel, jon, john catalina38, seth, jeepdude65, crankytony, and beatsworking; that leaves 5 spots available and we're taking dibs. those who prefer to sleep on a real bed in a heated room, there's the panamint springs motel. we reserved a block and i think only a few rooms left. not sure, could be 3 or 5. if you want one, send me a PM for details. |

CO to DV
Well Joel, since you make the haul out to join us for RMAR, I'm putting this on my calendar for 2013. I got a new truck, so I just need to pick up a trailer. Would love to ride in, but riding over the Rockies can be sketchy that time of year. Then again, maybe I'll just try studding my tires....
Learned my lesson from Ophir, and will def have knobbies on for these off road weekends! I love Death Valley and can't wait to work on those off-road skills a bit more. Maybe by the end of next summer I won't feel like such a noob anymore.

Anyone lurking this thread from back east, this is the route that I would probably take. I have not made my decision to go, but having someone to share the driving and the expense would make it easier.
![]() I have room for one extra bike and one person. PM me if interested.
