There are quite a lot of bikes with this setup…. Yeah, I’m living the 17” rear wheel for the moment. I don’t know why in Spain (and I think in Europe) there aren’t Excel 21” rims with 32 holes. After months searching I’ve found a workshop in Barcelona specialized in supermotard kits and they found interesting my project. They find this rim in a Spanish manufacturer, made the modifications and now we are going to try it. If is strong enough they want to sell it as a kit and then perhaps we are going to try with the rear wheel. I think is going to be a beast!! ![]()

Maintenance
I'm a proud new owner of a ST. In the past I've had 1150RT and 1150GSA. Maintenance on the BMW's was pretty easy with the help of this forum and a good Clymer's manual. With respect to the ST, what manuel are you guys using (similar to Clymer's) so the DIY'er like myself can continue doing my own maintenance? Thanks.

What's wrong with Yamaha's sevice manual?
Quote:
I use Yamaha's own factory service manual - both the USA one in paper-printed & the Euro one in PDF on my laptop & cell phone. Personally I always prefer factory service manuals to Clymer, Haynes, etc. if they are readily available, even if they're more expensive. After all, where do you think the folks at Clymer, etc. get the info to write their manuals? ![]() Dallara ~

I found the oil drains plugs for the diff and the engine all by myself. The oil filter is pretty obvious too.
That's about all you need to know isn't it? ![]() Yes the European pdf is pretty good.
