.

They're Daystar but I don't remember what model.

The "Commando" style from Mike's should work well.......

Nice find! I just bought the Shorai for the SRX(of course); for the seat fab and for some odd reason I can't pull the trigger on the gaiters til tommorow..course I did just buy a used front fender for the S90 I don't have yet..evidentally its my next build and I know how hard they are to get..huh?? I promise I'll spend again tomorrow..
Thanks again..
here's a link to my S90 fantasy, cept I think I'd like to try fitting a later cable actuated small disc brake front end(like a CB125S??) and one of those Lifan 140cc oil cooled engines; seem they're pretty close to bolt in..the air tech tank and seat, skulptchah! don't dig runnin the fairing though..
yeah, I know..obsessed.

Rear shock

Hi fleshpiston,

Just finished reviewing the thread and couldn't find an answer. I'm painting the frame (and other red parts) on my SRX250 and want to paint the shock spring too.

I removed the clip on the rear shock spring and discovered that it will not fit over the clevis. It appears that you painted the spring on the rear shock as part of your rennovation. Did you remove the spring to do this?

I'm guessing the clevis is threaded on the shock shaft, but how do you hold the shaft without damaging it (no pun intended).

Hey I remember this thread!

Long time, no talk HD. I wish I had an answer for ya but I didn't paint my spring, just cleaned it up and put it back on the bike. Not much help I know

The little two fiddy is still in use. Mom doesn't ride it too often but my son, who is now 17, took the MSF course and passed his test on it!

I'm proud, yet scared

Man time flies!

been making some slow progress on the 500 as well, I hope to have it on the road this summer .........

That's strange. I also have a 17 year old son. Last summer he took the Massachusetts Rider Course (which is based on the MSF curricula) on our SRX250 and also passed. Completion of the MA course is good for a 10% insurance discount and also counts as the motorcycle road test with the RMV.

Even stranger, is I have the same gas tank on the shelf for my SR500 project that you're using. My son picked it out at Vintage Days in Ohio last summer. Did you have to do any tunnel mods to get it to fit? It looks good with the seat you're using.
