Also, I'd assume they would have taken care of this already, but check out the chain, and look up the recall notice. Just took mine in today to get the chain swapped as it was part of the recall.

I did go to OTD which is closer to my house but I happened to know someone who works at Malcolm Smith's and they are close to where I work.

Actually I went with the 46L top case. I think I have more then enough storage.

Sorry, I just meant that I also have the Trekker top case, mine being the 52L. I don't have any side cases yet...going to see how things go with just the large top case and built in storage.

Without being able to see them in person, I wanted to go larger cause I wear XL/XXL helmets, and wanted to be able to store it easily, plus have add'l room for extra items. I've found out I can store my jacket & helmet in there during the day when I ride to work.

Hey, those look really good, man! I've only seen pix of the OEM's (which I don't like), and the other black Givis. Why did you go with the Trekkers, versus the other choices? Two months?! Man. Also, do you have the Givi rack set up, and, if so, are there limitations on sidecase/topcase with those (my 599 had to have the SW racks if you wanted to have the topcase first and then add in the side cases.

Sorry for the basic questions. I'm thinking about this bike, but still on the fence for various reasons.

Saw those too (wish the white were available here in the US, or, better yet the RED). Then I was reminded of the Givi v35 set with silver that Beemerphile has on his and those look swank. However, the top open option on the Trax is very appealing. I have the little 21's on my hornet and they are the greatest.

G'day Folks,
Just a question. When I have occasion to give the bike full throttle under hard acceleration I find that there is quite a loud induction roar from around the steering head area. Anybody else find that ? At first I thought the airbox might not be fastened properly or that there might be a leak, as there was a slight hint of a whistling noise mixed in .

Otherwise I have about 4000 Kms on this bike and it is in everyday use here in the reasonably mild ( so far ) Irish winter. Additions have been Givi side cases which I already had, and a Honda screen. I bought the H screen because of the rigidity and it works. It makes a very significant difference to protection in bad weather, and even to noise reduction. It is completely rigid at speed but I have only as yet brought the bike up to about 85 mph with this screen in place. To anyone taking the bike offroad, be careful as it is too low for anything other than well graded fire roads. I have damaged my pipe on one such excursion.

Fuel consumption has not been lower 70MPG ( Imperial) so far. The NC is not my only bike but I love the concept, and with that in mind my expectations of it are in line with said concept. Accordingly the only other change I will make will be to add crashbars as soon as I find ones that I like. So far I am not impressed with either SW or Givi items. Any other suggestions ?

Yeah, I've noticed that too, and it's not as satisfying as on some other bikes.
I wonder what a K&N or a similar filter would do to it.

It gets louder as the miles pile on, but shouldn't get louder then where you're
at right now.

Most likely make the noise worse....................and some would say not a good choice in filters but that a different question that is almost like an oil thread.
