I'm using the Tatonka Barrel bag. Looks to be made out of the same stuff as the wolfman bags but the seams aren't sealed. It has straps that fold into a pockets so you can make it a back pack.

Duffel / Backpack?
I've been using a rectangular "boat bag" from Bass Pro Shop.
Not absolutely waterproof as I think a bit of water would eventually penetrate the zipper but for $20 it's been a very good deal. Like someone mentioned earlier the idea of a dry duffel with backpack straps is appealing to me ... Has anyone else found one of those they like? |

I tried a boating-type, side-close "waterproof" bag from Canadian Tire a few years ago. Was 1/2 price and too cheap to ignore. The zip-lock style closure leaked badly the very first (and only) trip; I returned it as soon as I got home. I looked at several of the canoe bags posted earlier in this thread, but they don't cost less, and don't seem quite as well sorted for motorcycle use as the Wolfman product. I bought a Wolfman Exp. Dry Duffel - size Small last Christmas, haven't used it yet as it is still wintry here. I like the side-close, rectangular shape and the well-designed tie down points. The shoulder-strap is removable, and probable won't be used.

I've got the large North Face camp duffle.
Tough bag, it's just a bit too big. I'll get a medium at some point.

I've used Northface waterproof duffle backs and they leaked through the top zippers.
I'm now trying out the small and medium Wolfman expedition duffle bags.

Sealine, I've used it a few trips, seems like a good bag. I needed one 24" long was one of the only I could find that long.

Don't think Twisted Throttles bags been mentioned? I'm thinking of the 28L but they've got 38L too and they're designed to be used together as well.

I have the side opening Ortleib. It's been good.
![]() Tip if you are using this type of bag hard, especially with hard stuff inside, use some contact adhesive to glue a layer of something tough on the base where it sits on your rack so it doesn't rub through. Cheers Clint

Another option:
I used this one with a hard bottom when traveling two up on a GSA without a topcase:
http://www.amazon.com/Kwik-Tek-Water...dry+duffel+bag For long offroad more dirt oriented rides I use a sealine with backpack straps for the reason Coho mentioned. |
