Short holiday in Cornwall
Last August I went on a 4-day camping trip to Cornwall, 2-up on the bike. I stayed at a campground about 300 miles west of London which was roughly 20 miles from Land's End, the most western point on the mainland of England. Below is a list of the main things packed after which there was still plenty of space in the panniers for food/drink etc along the way. The camping and cooking gear totalled 9kg.
Photo gallery of this trip Yellow roll bags Each contained a sleeping bag, self-inflating sleep mat and towel Left (small) pannier 3-man tent, two plastic bento boxes (self contained with compartments and fork/knife) and a small toiletry pouch containing toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, moisturiser, a mini deodorant stick, mini cutting board, spices, oil, spoon spatula, and ketchup Right pannier Tent groundsheet, waterproof suits, flip-flops, LED spotlight/torch, camp stove, chain lube, a a fully equipped tool pouch, spare headlamp bulb and some carrier bags Topbox Clothing/underwear Tankbag Smartphone, tablet, D-SLR camera, DIN to dual USB charger and motorbike documentation Packed and ready to go (this pic was from a previous trip before I got the comfort seat but with the same packing list) Set up at the campground

Cheers - it is indeed! Vango Tempest 300 (2011 version)... it was one of the only tents that fits exactly in the lower portion of the smaller left pannier.

The poles in several of the Vango 2-3 man tents have been designed to have small enough sections that you can fit them into panniers. They're often marketed towards (and very popular with) cycle tourers for this reason. Works well for us motorcyclists too. No other item in my standard loadout is too big to fit in either my hard panniers, or, if I'm using them, my Kriega bags. Consequently, I find it really annoying to have to have just the one item (tent/bivvy poles) lashed to the back seat. I can understand that for people who are already carrying something larger poles would fit in, it's much less of an issue.
Duff: Nice; a Tempest or Spectre 200 is in the running to supplement my similar Spectre 300 for when I want a bit less pack size without resorting to a bivvy. I have tents costing several times what the Spectre does, yet the Spectre is what gets the most use. For 3 Season camping, where going ultralight isn't a concern, that range of Vango tents are near-perfect IMO and far better built than they have any right to be for the money.

There are 3 poles which break down in sections. The 2011 version of this tent was actually 300g lighter than the 2012 version but dimensions are the same at 43cm long (1cm shorter than the inner length of the BMW panniers) and 15cm in diameter (the same as the width of the left/narrow pannier)—so the tent fits perfectly in there with lots of space above where the panner widens.
A picture might be the easiest—the poles and ground pegs also fit in the bag with the tent:
